Can't beat this deal!
I found this deal after weeks of searching for the perfect 10/22 & stock combination. You can't beat this price (Hogue overmold alone is $79+). Shipping was super fast couldn't ask for more!

When I picked this up at HAWKTECH ARMS (my FFL dlr.) everyone was impressed at the features and price. Great gun!

The Absolute Best Deal For The Best .22lr - Amazing!
Let me start off by saying that this is the absolute best price you will find for this specific combination of features for the Ruger 10/22. For the price I paid ($199 w/free shipping!) you get the fantastic rubberized Hogue Overmolded stock (normally $70 to $100 by itself) a threaded barrel (with dual threads including the factory 1/2x20 threads and the Ruger 1/2x28 adapter) iron sights (its hard to find factory Ruger 10/22 barrels that have both iron sights AND threads. Trust me I've been waiting on this for several years!) and the extended magazine release which you used to have to add yourself on the older 10/22's.

Upon first inspection of the rifle there was only one disappointing factor and that was the polymer trigger group. I have a few older 10/22's and they have all came with aluminum trigger groups from the factory. A little research and you will find out that Ruger switched from aluminum to polymer around the year 2007 and for good reason (so I'm told). The newer fiber-reinforced polymer trigger groups are supposed to be a more precise fit but it just doesn't feel the same as having an all-metal gun in my opinion even though the polymer used on these is supposed to be stronger and give a better fit and feel. Would this prevent me from buying another one of these from Palmetto State Armory? Absolutely not! My only regret is that I only ordered one of them before they sold out. I wish I had ordered two so that I could have given one to my step-son as his first rifle for Christmas!

These little rifles are wonderful and not just for children or people new to firearms. I often have more fun with my .22lr's than my larger higher caliber rifles and pistols. There are so many muzzle attachments aftermarket parts and accessories and cheap ammo choices that a few good .22lr's should be part of anyone's collection.

However I WOULD recommend that you add two things to this Ruger 10/22 right out of the box and those two things are: a bolt buffer and an auto bolt release. Both can be had for right around $10.00 (each) including shipping. I recently paid $10.00 shipped for three (3) bolt buffers and $11.99 shipped for a nice quality auto bolt release.

A bolt buffer will keep your 10/22 bolt from slapping the metal pin that comes in the rifle from the factory causing it to be louder and putting more wear on the bolt and receiver holes that the pin goes through. It will also keep the action feeling much softer and will keep it much more quiet while shooting with a suppressor if you're into that sort of thing.

An auto bolt release is something that Ruger should be including from the factory by now but for some reason they still aren't. The auto bolt release let's you lock your bolt back as you normally would and rather than having to manipulate the bolt release you simply pull the bolt back slightly and the bolt is released allowing you to resume using the rifle without dealing with the finicky factory bolt release.

I would definitely give this deal 5 huge stars. You can't go wrong with all of the features you get right from the factory. Palmetto State Armory shipped the rifle very quickly as well. For $219 in my hand after paying my local dealer $20.00 for the transfer I am very happy with my purchase. I only hope I am able to purchase at least one more for the same price before Christmas!

Thanks Palmetto State Armory. After looking around on your website for a while this was my first purchase from your company and you did not disappoint. You definitely earned yourself a return customer. Maybe I will give your AK-47's a shot next.

More gun than expected
Value Accuracy Threaded Barrel Glock-like parts availability what'snot to like. First off it's the proven 10/22 platform. Secondlyit comes with a free floating barrel mounted in an overmolded Hogue stock. Lastly it comes with iron sights it's pre-tapped for various scope mounts and it includes a rail adapter for the scope mounting holes in case you want to attach something "tactical. After experiencinghe comfort and additionl grip of this stock I think the B.A.R. .22LR is about to become a safe queen.
