American Tactical has partnered with German arms manufacturer Schmeisser GmbH to exclusively import and distribute the Schmeisser S60 60 round AR-15 magazine.  Made from glass reinforced polymer, this patent-pending magazine features a unique follower system that allows for double capacity from a normal AR magazine without being bulky or cumbersome.  Designed to shoot both .223 REM & 5.56X45MM, the Schmeisser S60 will give you an instant capacity upgrade over the standard AR mag at an affordable price for your AR Carbine or Pistol.

The Schmeisser S60 was built specifically for .223REM or 5.56X45MM ammo only.  Schmeisser & American Tactical have found that the S60 may not operate with all types of .300 Blackout ammo.  Due to inconsistencies with different brands, Schmeisser does not recommend using 300 Blackout with this magazine.  Failure for the magazine to operate with 300 Blackout is not covered by American Tactical's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Warning! - High Tension Spring

The Schmeisser S60 has a very powerful high tension spring.  Please use caution if disassembling the magazine for maintenance.  If not properly secured, spring may eject from the magazine when floor plate is removed and can cause serious injury.

Does this magazine function with 300aac blackout ammunition? If not, does the company plan on making a version that does?
Scooter on Jul 22, 2019

According to the ATI website they do not recommend using 300AAC with this magazine. I would call ATI to see if they plan on making one specifically for 300AAC.

What is the weight in ounces?
david w on Jul 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I weighed it empty for you. Mine weighed 9.35 ounces. It is a little heavier than my surefire 60 and much lighter than my magpul d60. I would weigh those for you but they are all loaded now and I didn't really want to unload them. Hope this helps.

Great value!
I recently took to the range with my friends and boy it performed flawlessly. This is a great value, especially for a piece of precision German engineering.

First, it is challenging to load, and I had to load and unload to get it to take all 60rds. This would be forgivable if it worked. First, it would not chamber the first round. Then I got it to the chamber, and it cycled 2 rounds then jammed. It was half way in with the bolt over the top of the rd. So I pulled the mag clear and did this same operation every 2 to 3 rds for a dozen rds or so. I pulled the mag took some rds out to see if that would help, tapped the mag to make sure all were aligned. It would nose dive every other rd; it was not keeping enough force on the rds to properly chamber. This a surprise because it was a pain to load. The nose of the rds nose-diving was chewing up the front of the mag. So I took 10 more rds out but it the rds were still hanging in the mag, and the top rds would be loose with no pressure. If you want 60rd mag buy a Magpul drum, those have worked with everything. This mag is not usable. I used 223 factory ammo, and it would not work.

Initial Impressions are good
Received magazine over the weekend. Its THICK but feels good in the hand. Easy to hold on to. handed 61 rounds into it. Took all of them easily enough. Unloaded the mag by pushing out one at a time from behind like a bolt carrier would and it did just fine with that. Feels very close, if not the same weight as my PMAG 40 with a ranger plate on it. About the same length as well. Locked into mag well great, and it does drop free from rifle when the button is pushed. Will update when I get the chance to actually use it in the rifle. So far so good though
