Illumination is unusable in daylight
The Illumination is unuasable in daylight can barely see 11 setting. inside Illumination works great so if your using this outside in daylight you will not see Illumination. I called Bushnell to see if mine was faulty the customer service rep said no he said it was made for dusk or dawn or inside daylight will wash out Illumination. This seems stupid to me considering they advertise it as basically a red dot with it on 1 power which it is not outside. Really dissapointing but i guess you get what you pay for. For the 150 i paid for it ill deal with not beeing able to see Illumination outside at least it has the black outline

Good scope for the price
It did take a little longer than expected for me to received my scope but PSA was nice enough to refund my shipping to compensate for the delay (which i appreciate). the scope seems to be of good quality and the glass is a good quality for the price range of this scope. I have not had a chance to sight in yet but it seems that will be a good addition to the ar pistol i added it to. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this for anyone looking for a sub 200.00 1-4 scope (249+ at other places by the way) for their ar. I also appreciate PSA customer service for taking care of me when something that they had no control over was delaying my order.

Acceptable quality but heavy.
This is easily the best price I've found by $50 and after waiting over three weeks for shipping finally got it. As I've read elsewhere the directions that came with the scope are lacking and incorrect for use of the reticle. When I opened the smashed box I was expecting the scope to be damaged but after inspecting all was ok. This thing is heavy for what it is and built like a tank. The PCL lever has poor knurling and a little wobble to it. It's made in Korea and not China. There is no provision for installing an ARD. The ocular lens adjustment is sticky. You can see a bright red glow through the objective lense at night with the reticle illuminated. Lens coatings aren't very good- you can see a blue halo around bright objects in full sunlight at max power (a polarizing filter would help). At minimum power (not true 1x) it's like having a 5moa red dot. At night anything above 5 for illumination the whole sight picture is washed out with a red glow and unusable. I'd still recommend it though for the price if you're not doing anything serious with it.

Reticle info
Here is corrected info for reticle use. "I called Bushnell customer service and she forwarded my questions about the instruction manual to the product manager. A few days later I got an email from the product manager saying I was right and the chart needs to be changed (page 9 of the instructions). He sent me a technical drawing of the reticle; here is what I can tell you from his words and that drawing: 1). The reticle is calibrated in meters not yards that the book states so sight-in and all ranges will be in meters (I suspected this since it is a 'tactical' scope). Not much difference at moderate distances but could make a difference at long range. 2). Dot should be sighted in at 50m or 200m which will give same impact point at both distances then impact point will be about 1/2 inch high at 100m (depending on barrel length and other variables). Inverted Ts are for ranges of 300 400 500 and 600 meters the labeling in the manual is off by 100 meters for each T. 3). Each inverted T is to bracket a target of 12X18 inches at its respective range in meters. Parts of anatomy of deer hogs and even humans and other critters measure approximately 18" so reticles can be used as rangefinders. 4). Dot diameter is 1 moa center of dot to inside edge of horseshoe is 9 moa center of dot to outside edge of horseshoe is 11 moa.
I am 90% sure the aimpoints are at the junction of the vertical and horizontal lines that form the inverted T but I will check back with Bushnell to get confirmation since the aimpoints could be the tops of the vertical lines. I will add to this comment when I find out.

ADDED: I called Bushnell again and verified that the aim points for the inverted Ts are where the vertical and horizontal lines intersect. I also went to the range and sighted in at 100 meters. I noticed the view is clear near the center but out about halfway to the edges details like tree leaves sort of smear out away from the center like rays not a deal breaker at this price point but noticeable." -By Liberalismiscommunismbythedrink

QC needs work
Out of the box the screw that holds the throw lever in place was almost falling out hence the 3 stars for quality. A quick fix but it makes me question the clear lack of quality control for the rest of the build. That being said overall for $150 you can't complain much although it is also heavy. On the bright side the optics seem clear enough and it should function well once I build something to mount it on.

Defective electronics
Got my scope yesterday. The glass and build are very nice but the illumination is not working correctly. I get the same brightness level on all the settings. Except on #4 I get no illumination there half the time. Now I will have to send it to Bushnell as PSA will not take it back... and I have to pay shipping also. Very frustrating for a brand new item. Will think twice before buying this brand again.

Great for the price.
The only negative thing about this scope is the weight but that is irrelevant unless you plan on carrying around all day. For the range it is perfect. The extra mass will help tame the massive recoil forces of the .223/5.56 cartridge.

I love this scope
Upgraded to this scope from a bushnell ar optics trs25 red dot. I really enjoyed it but wanted the increased flexibility of a 1-4 and it fit the bill perfectly. Definitely not a true 1x but close enough that I can still use it as a red dot with no problem and reach out a little farther with the 4x. The glass is crisp and clear and the power control adjustment is smooth and quick. I really like the simplicity of the btr reticle in the first focal plane makes doing my part behind it easier. Also like that adjustment is In mils instead of moa and the return to zero is a nice feature. Great scope in my opinion at a reasonable price.

Nice scope
I bought this about a year ago so have had some range time with it. I mounted it on a 16" AR. I haven't had any problems to date and my observations are the same as most. The reticle is hard to see on 1X unless the illumination is turned all the way up. At 4X I can see it just fine even without the light. I like that I can still use this even if the battery should go dead. This scope has held it's zero and the adjustments are accurate. Bright and clear sight picture. I have used red dot and holographic sights on ARs but this is my favorite sighting system because with the power set at 4X I can make accurate shots out to a couple of hundred yards.
