For the GF3, yes. Three times. First was not due to the trunnion but instead the finish on the rufles internals was poorly applied and straight up missing in sections of the bolt carrier and bolt. Got it back, shot it for ~500 rounds, looked inside and the trunnion was showing signs of uneven wear well beyond what’s expected within thay period. Sent it back and asked for it to be looked at. PSA Swapped the trunnion and put a new bolt in. Shot it again for about 500 rounds and it was showing excessive wear again. Traded it for a CZ handgun since I needed a CCW anyway.
You are a firearms Engineer? Excellent.
I have gotten past my AK/Building stage, and have been looking for an Experienced Expert Engineer to pick their brains about my G3 Projects…
Yes. I trade guns I don’t like. A lot. Why would I keep an AK struggling to maintain safe operating conditions?
Pictures? I really WOULD love to see them.
Never built a G3, I had a PTR91 (funnily enough traded the CETME-L for it). Recently traded that for a 1903 at a gun show.
I’m just saying, it’s very convenient for you to not be able to prove a thing you’re claiming, while taking the exact same argumentative stance, and regurgitating the exact same talking points, as other trolls we’ve dealt with before on this exact same subject.
I have also traded guns I haven’t liked in the past. However, I have documentation regarding them, like purchase order numbers, serial numbers, or, at the very least, photos. Doubly so for ones that would have been so very “problematic.”
I don’t really keep receipts from my trades, when I trade at shows its just over a hand shake. When I trade at pawn shops I don’t ask for a receipt because I don’t really ever think I’ll need it.
As for the GF3, that trade was like, 4 years ago. Feels weird saying 2021 was that long ago. Trust me I want these PSAKs to be better, which is why the swell necks are such an important part of that. Its the main reason I made an account here: to ask if we will see these on their rifles going forward. Genuinely, its the one change that they can do to make me go ‘close enough I’ll give it another chance’.
I’m once again genuinely shocked that you have zero receipts, zero pictures, zero documentation, or literally anything to give any kind of reassurance your claims are anything but exactly that…claims.
Strange those inferior-constructed non-swellneck-riveted-GF3s go so many thousands of rounds as full-auto firearms at all these Shows PSA puts on, yet 500 rounds was the max you got (TWICE!) (or technically, -Three Times in two rifles) from your own.
Maybe they Swellneck-Riveted just those “Ringers”, to keep them from spitting the guts out of them, I dunno.

Oh, thank Goodness for putting his Nose back on! ![]()
Since you mentioned it, both my father and a grandfather were Petroleum Engineers and I respectfully disagree with your statement. I was basically born and raised in the oil and gas field.
There’s a lot to unpack there but basically:
1: Survivorship bias
2: sample size
And possibly
3: cherry picking
I’ll also point out that companies will put all sorts of claims put for marketing sake. I will not speculate on the histories of rifles I have not seen or inspected. I can only speak for my own experience. All I will say is that it is my opinion that one of the major reasons the imports are of such high quality compared to US built AKs writ large is that they have been making them at scale a lot longer. Note that they all use swell necks. Perhaps thats something they learned by experience.
Respectfully are you your grandfather or father? My father didn’t work in the field I am in and I will never claim to understand his work. I doubt he’d claim to know mine.
And I am calling your “experience” as entirely fabricated, and therefore invalid. The rest of your reply is meaningless.
You can continue to dance around all you want, I think I’ve more than made my point here.
We’re done. PSA makes the rifles the way they want. Dont like it? Dont buy it.
I hear KUSA can be easily bought……
