Beretta APX

Hey did the trigger ever break in for you?
I’ve been thinking about picking one up if it goes back on sale for $175 but people talk so much shirt about the carry model trigger.

Carry size has nothing to do with the trigger. Trigger on mine is a little heavier than a Dagger’s is but it’s fine on mine. Dagger’s are a lot more broken in. I would not, not buy one over the trigger.

I should clarify. Frames are not serialized on the APX, whatever size you want just get that grip module.

This is like me, except I did it with the M9A4.

Bought the first one a couple of months after they initially hit the market. It was so nice (the anodizing on the early production frames is a much more copper tone than the lighter FDE/tan of the current runs) that I eventually decided I wanted a second one for carry use.

Beretta is probably hands down my favorite firearms manufacturer. I have three 92s (a non-RDO 92X, and the two A4’s), and two PX4’s (one compact carry and one Special Duty, which is a .45).

On my list of what I want is an inox 92 made in Italy, an A300 UP or 1301, an 80X, and maybe a CX4. Also would like to get my hands on one of the new 92GTS’s and a PX4 GSD.

No APX yet though, as hammer guns are my preference. But the APX A1 sure is a nice looking pistol. Especially their FDE frame. Love two-tones.

I even have a .32 Tomcat I liked until the boating incident.

I bought one a few months ago, the same Brazilian issue APX. The trigger was stiff but it wasn’t just the trigger. I found I needed to file down the inner part of the trigger guard where the dip is. My finger kept catching on it.

I ended up filing that down, putting a Talc trigger from Overwatch Precision, and a stainless steel firing pin from Galloway Precision. Trigger pull is smooth and crisp and about 5 lbs now compared to the 7-8lbs it was.
