Questions before shooting a new gun

The Manufacturer of the rifle examined it, and has a video out about it - HE determined it was over-pressure due to a grossly over-loaded round.

Scott has another video later, where he “safely” blows-up another identical rifle, nearly-exactly the same way with a Juiced round, proving that.

He also used the same Super-Hot round in a Barrett, with similar (destructive!) results.

ANYTHING that round went in was going to Suffer for it.

I appreciate his “show must go on attitude”.

BUT he seemed a little too close to the edge of the cliff in his re-enactment.

Also he lost a golden opportunity to analyze the Problem ammo. i.e. to send the powder out for chemical analysis.

To answer the question of How & Why the problem round became a problem round.

Over time the combination of Nitrates and Metals can produce unstable explosive compounds. That’s one of the most common warnings issued at the “GoldRefiningForums” website, where people are using Nitric acid to refine Silver and Gold.
