I’m looking for someone to mentor my reloading journey here in Tallahassee. Sounds stange asking for a mentor at age 69!
We always did shotgun shells growing up and those were easy.
I’m learning on 9mm. I want to do .45, 10mm, 5.56, 5.7x28 and THEN shot shells!
PSA has turned me into an addict!
Much better than other addictions ![]()
I am nowhere near an expert let alone a mentor BUT I was in your shoes last year. Some community colleges offer gun smithing programs. My local community college offers reloading classes and that is how I started my journey. My instructor has basically become a mentor on all things gun related, including reloading.
With that being said, an RCBS Rockchucker is great platform to use. Lee Universal Shell Holders is an excellent buy as well. You can use those for any caliber (minus shot shell) that you are considering. Lastly, get a journal to log all of your recipes, you’ll learn what you personally like and don’t like.
Thanks, but maybe I’d better start over. I’ve got all my supplies and equipment. I would just like a person to talk to, watch me, etc. Kinda like not cutting out an appendix without a skilled hand watching. I’ll check my CC but I seriously doubt here in San Fran lite I’ll have any such luck!![]()

Nope, no luck there.
