Slide Issue?

Hey fellas, went to clean my new Dagger for the first time tonight and something caught my eye. I noticed this line down the center of the interior of the slide when it came in the mail the other day… I didn’t really think anything of it. Tonight as I got closer to give it it’s first cleaning, it almost seemed like a “crack”. That’s in quotes because I’m not sure if that’s what it is or just a machining mark. In any case, it looks to have a few burrs and the cerakote seems to not be on that line.

I’m wondering if it’s just cosmetic and maybe the trigger bar scraped it upon reassembly, in which case I’m not too worried about it. Mainly I’m trying to make sure it doesn’t have a catastrophic failure when I shoot it for the first time. Hope the picture is clear and I appreciate the insight!

I have that line as well, all is normal. Mine is still cerakoted though. My Gen5 also has a “step” on that side.

It’s Not a defect or issue @avembay113

You can feel it with your finger from a low to high spot but it’s fine to shoot :cowboy_hat_face:

yeah. Absolutely NOT. I see a burr that should never have left the machine floor and I see a separation that looks like a crack in the corner of step. Also it might be the picture but it looks rough in the opening on the spacer sleeve. It’s just one picture and I couldn’t say much about it without an up close inspection but I would want to take close up high res pictures and send them to customer services for an evaluation.

All of my slides have that demarcation line. Not an issue

Demarcation line? Wha? That’s a geographical boundary right? This is a milled step. Mine has one also. They all have the step. Doesn’t mean a thing. Do you see that heavy burr ? I see it. When you zoom into the issue do you see the separation along the lengthat the top of the step? I see it. I see a damaged area that I would not have passed through my inspection department. It would have been red tagged, yellow tagged at the least and sent to MRB. Just from the view I have of it I would call the a supplier escape.

Take some detailed pictures and send it to customer services.

I took a few pictures and just sent it off to them. If it’s cosmetic, it’s cosmetic. Better safe than sorry.

going through proper channels is never a wrong move. Like I said, I only have the one picture to go by but it does look like something.
