An old man and woman were riding on a buckboard wagon in the old days. Their donkey was pulling them along down the road.
The donkey saw a rattlesnake and went bullsh!t crazy, braying and rearing up. The old man said “That’s one!”
A bit further up the road, the donkey saw a noisy, smoky, horseless carriage, and went bullsh!t again. The old man said, “That’s two!” Well, it happened again when the donkey was startled by a black cat scurrying underfoot chasing a mouse. The donkey again went to raising hell, and they all veered off into a ditch. The old man said “Dammit, that’s three!” And then shot and killed the donkey.
His wife yelled, “Why did you shoot the donkey you jackass! That the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.” The old man looked over at her and said, “That’s one!..”
