What lower receiver do I need to buy?
Logan M on Jun 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Logan, if you're asking that... you may need to do some more research on your own. There is more material available on The Google and The YouTube that will tell you everything you need to know about this. But to answer you question, EVERY AR15 stripped lower that is sold in the USA will work with this kit, ok? ALL of them will work.
is there a rear sight?
josh b on Apr 13, 2018
What's the length of the handguards? So I can buy a rail
Richard on Aug 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It has a mid-length gas system, and those gas tubes are approximately 9.5 inches long. A handguard should be 8.5 to 9 inches long.
What is the FFL part that it needs?
De'De K on Dec 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The only go part id the lower receiver. The kit your looking at I have 3 of them and their the best I've ever owned. No ffl required with the upper rifle kit it fomes straight to your door. Psa is very good with customer service and fast shipping...they dont pay me for my response I'm just throwing my opinion out there. I love psa

It says; standard handgaurds, but doesnt clarify for me if they are circled end or triangle ends??
Big I on Feb 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The handgaurd is round however all drop in "gi" style handgaurds have triangular ends. Any drop in handgaurds of correct length will work fine. Hope this helps.
What else do i need to complete the rifle?
Tony C on Feb 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You will need either a rear sight or scope and a low profile block to replace the front sight. Also a clip or 20. The gun will be fully functional as is, but the scope/sight needs resolved for any accuracy. Love it, by the way.
Does this need to be sent to an FFL?
Nicholas M on Dec 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, only lowers require ffl.
Is the front sight removable?
alexander m on Nov 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: NO... sorta, you can NOT remove it quickly, and put it back . it IS removable by punching out the 2 roll pins at the bottom of the sight, and the 1 pin that holds the gas tube in place. then replace it with a new gas block. but if you are worried that the front sight will be in your way while looking thru a scope, don't worry it won't be a problem. you won't even notice it there. i own 8 AR's and all of them have the same fron't sight. (if it ain't broke don't fix it)
Will a bayonet fit on it properly?
Noah S on Jun 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes! My bayonet fits perfectly.
Will this kit also work for a.308??
DAVID N on Nov 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No - I do not believe this kit will work for a 308 platform - This is an AR 15 in 5.56 / 223 platform. If you want a 308 platform you'll have to buy an AR 10 kit.. which will be a little more costly but still the same amount of fun and reliability
Since this isn’t a complete rifle, does this kit need to be registered yet or once it’s actually assembled with the lower ?
JR C on Nov 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Neither. The only part of an AR build that requires you to submit to a NICS background check is the stripped lower. The rest are just metal parts as far as the government is concerned. Now, you may live in a state that requires registration. You will need to check with your local laws but if so that too should be keyed off of the stripped lower.
Is this one or any of these builds capable of shooting 223?
Danny lee on Nov 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: All will fire 556 and 223.
Is this kit in black or grey? I can't tell by the photo. It looks grey to me.
Anthony B on Jun 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The upper I got was black.
Is the M16 BCG on this kit full auto?
Dwayne W on Nov 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes However it will not fire full auto in your rifle, it is just made to the M-16 specs
Is there a left handed option?
Chad M on Jun 27, 2018
Just so I’m clear, if I want to replace the handguard, I would have to get a new gas block and do away with the front sight?
Matt V on Nov 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Only if the hand guard you are replacing it with is longer than 9". There are plenty of drop in options that let you keep the front sight/gas block.
Very interested in buying and building my first AR, will this kit have all parts for a complete build if not what's needed to complete the build. What tools are required for assembly?
Larry B on Nov 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This kit has everything you need to build you AR except for a stripped lower receiver. As far as tools, watch the Larry Potterfield "How to build an AR-15 lower receiver" video. Video will provide instructions and tools needed. Hope that helps.
Can the front site br removed and a different hand guard be installed?
Blake on May 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but if you don't want this kit's front sight or handguards, you should look for a different kit.
Is this just 5.56 or multi calibers?
Donnie H on May 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The rifle kit is 5.56 / .223. "Multi Calibers" marked lower can be used for the build.

Mrgunner said it best .. (Best bang for your buck )
After buying all kinds of highend rifles from . Mak90, DD, Arsenal sam7r, Maadi,Romy G. I kept asking myself what am I chasing? I ordered a psa carbine length kit 1 year ago and loved the rifle . I traded it for a glock 23 . I always missed that rifle . I ordered another kit this time in mid length and wow the felt recoil is better . The rifle has not been through a high round count but I'm sure it will make it with the psa lifetime warranty . I put a rmr acog set up on the rifle and love it . You cannot beat the value period . Yeah some people get bad rifles here and there but they pump out so many Rifles that a bad egg is bound to happen .I would say buy with confidence and get a hammer , punch set and start putting a kit together . Save your money and go ammo \optics

Love it!
Great deal on a budget rifle, goes bang every time I pull the trigger. I use mine as a tool, why spend hundreds or thousands more when I’m not in a life and death situation?

great "bang" for the buck!
I purchased one of these not long ago when they were running the blem on their daily deals. This was my First PSA product and I was really undecided if I was going to try them or not. First of all, I can't tell where the blem is. Second of all, the overall fit and finish of this rifle far exceeded my expectations, especially with the price. I feel that it is better built than the Ruger AR 556 and the S&W Sport II. It came with the 3 oz carbine buffer which I found odd due to the mid length gas system but I have yet to have a malfunction. It shoots smooth and straight. If you are on the fence on whether or not to try a PSA product, do not will not be disappointed! PSA is fast becoming my go to company for the vast majority of my firearms needs!

Giddy up podunk
Shipped fast. Assembled well. Nice overall fit and finish. I’ve put a few hundred rounds through it so far with zero issues. At such a good price I wasn’t sure what I’d be getting into, but I’ve got to say, I love it.
Love it, few hundred rounds through it so far, zero issues.

I have purchased 2 of these kits now and each one performed flawlessly. I spent half of what I would spend to buy a complete rifle off the shelf. Buying a kit like this gives you the knowledge to work on your own stuff and figure out what changes or upgrades need to be made so you don't pay for features you don't need. Once assembled I went to the range and fired about 90 rounds and not a hiccup. Cheap steel case, brass case it didn't matter, it gobbled it up. Accuracy was great. All rounds on paper from 25-100 yards. Only used Iron sights so I am sure an optic would do wonders. All in all a great piece for a great price.

Freedom midlength
Purchased palmetto lower and sent to my local FFL. Picked it up and assembled without issue. Upper to lower was a perfect fit. I added a carry handle for a rear site and looks. Rifle performed without a single issue. All for an investment of $380.00!
