What type of buffer and spring should I use with this bcg for a ar9 pistol setup?
Thomas B on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have figured out that when building the 9mm carbine I put together the buffer and spring were used to help limit bcg travel. I used a standard buffer spring and a 6.5 oz pistol buffer. My carbine worked well. I hope this helps.
Can you use this bcg with the Fostech echo 2 trigger?
David T on Feb 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I had to grind away excess material on the sides of the lower groove. The echo trigger needs a full-auto cut to function. It works well in the 9mm now.
What is the weight of the this bcg?
Amoranto91 on Sep 6, 2019
Is the "gas key" screwed on or is it a one piece BCG (where the key is milled into the bolt)? I'm hearing about the gas key breaking loose in PSA AR-9's.
Todd P on Jun 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Gas key is screwed on and didn’t come loose , the key doesn’t take “ gas in “ seeing it’s blow back, the charging handle is only reason it’s in place shouldn’t have any problems I’ve ran mine 4,500rds without problem
What material and finish is this made of?
Mitchell J on Mar 8, 2019
Is this considered a “full auto bcg”? Because I want to use it with my Echo 2 trigger without having to modify it. Thanks!
Logan on Jun 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Won’t work with the Echo II trigger , it should work with a Franklin Binary trigger
Is this bolt compatible with colt-style lowers and magazines, or Glock only?
John L on May 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It will work with Colt lower and mags. It is basically a Colt style bolt with cuts in it to allow use with Glock mags and lower too.
What makes this bcg a "hybrid"? What does that mean?
MDeez on Oct 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Works for colt and glock style mags.
Will this GS-9 bcg prevent a auto fire of 2 rounds in my PSA -model #PS9G AR9 rifle. Currently it is very unsafe?
Glenn J on Aug 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: That sounds like a problem with the trigger components, not the BCG. You can eliminate some variables by using factory ammo, and a professionally installed trigger.
Will this big work with a stern defense magwell adapter ?
Kirk M on Sep 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This type of bolt worked with all three of my magwell adapters just fine. Bret Rivers

2 piece body does not sit right
I bought this about 2 years ago and just got tot building my 9mm AR. Turns out the 2 piece style has the smaller side lower than the rest of the body and snags on the buffer tube retaining pin. Makes it impossible to chamber a round because it will not allow the charging handle to fully extend. Beware because I think this has to do with the quality of production.

Weight?
In my PSA Glock dedicated carbine, this bolt produces more recoil impulse and a louder report than when using the G4 buffer. Maybe there is a significant difference in the weight? Maybe it's just me or my carbine, but I don't think so. Not saying this is bad...just sayin'.

2 peice bolt body..?
The bolt literally broke in half when that little roll pin gave.. terrible design, should be 1 peice of metal like all other bolts!! Also could not get ahold of palmetto to fix the issue..

Once I found the right ammo I love it!
I purchased a complete pistol upper with the PSA-9 hybrid BCG and the only problem I have had is that it doesn't like steel and aluminum ammo, only functions properly with brass. Also had to cut down the spring on the firing pin to make it strike ammo hard enough to engage the primer on the ammo.

So far it’s great
No complaints so far.

2 of these PSA 9mm BCGs with no problems yet
I have 2 of these things. Both in ARs with colt style/metalform magwell conversions. One actually runs with a slidefire stock on it and it churns through the ammo all day long with not one failure. I've been running that one in that manner for over a year. BTW - these things along with a H3 buffer and a slide fire stock are a BLAST!

good stuff
no problem so far 500 rounds

Good Quality
My glock magazine PA-9 has close to 1000 rounds through it right now and the bolt has functioned flawlessly for me. The finish has worn off fairly quickly in some spots but thats what oil is for. No issues FTF or FTE and the bolt ejects the brass in a pile about 15-20 feet away.

Great with 9mm glock lower
Purchased this bolt and 9mm glock mag lower. The bolt performs as it should with no feeding or extraction issues with numerous types of ammo including steel case. The only drawback I have found so far is my hammer is creating some significant wear marks on the inside of the bolt where the top of the hammer is impacting the bolt. It does not hamper performance but it something to be aware of if you are using a standard ar milspec trigger.
