The .22 rimfire handgun will never look the same. The P22 changed everything. Walther adapted the tactical styling and Performance Design concepts from it's centerfire handguns and applied them to the .22 L.R. This created a new movement in the design of contemporary rimfire handguns … and an explosion of imitators. As a stylish, fun gun to own, the P22 is at home on the shooting range, around the camp or in a museum of modern art.

Great sidearm for short range
Bought this for varmint shooting. Woodchucks are a big problem and when running farm equipment they are not afraid of the constant noise. I can drive almost on top of them and the pistol is easy to use to eliminate the problem critter. One thing I did notice CCI ammo works the best with no issues on cycling. I used Remington ammo with my rifle but after some research I found that Remington uses a grease in their ammo that leaves a residue after firing. CCI is a clean burn and no problems after switching brands.

good practice/learning pistol
After putting 200 round thru (which isn't really enough to judge) I decided that the p22 is a more than decent handgun for learning how to shoot. Only 1ftf/fte but i blame it on junk ammo. Good quality gun.

This is my new favorite gun
I love this pistol! I have had so much fun shooting it. I shot a range P22 rental with my wife a few months ago we both had a blast and I started looking for one under $300 but had no luck. There are tons of bad reviews out there that had me a little scared too. When Palmetto dropped the thanksgiving sale price to $229 I just could not pass on it. I got a nice surprise finding two magazines in the nice carrying case. This is also the new and updated P22Q model that has several of the long standing issues resolved. If you look at the bad reviews they are usually more than 3-5 years old and are not reviews of the real German P22 or the new P22Q.

I had a few FTFs and FTEs with the first 50 rounds but after the initial break in period it has been running without an issue on HV rounds. On subsonic rounds I get at least one issue per magazine I just run HV rounds now. Even the cheapest Federal HV rounds I could find have worked without a single issue in the last 200 rounds (~350 rounds so far).

Get one you won't regret it.
