What makes an upper a “Freedom Upper”?
Michael M on Apr 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Entry level line. Not chrome lined but are lead lapped.
Is the muzzle device fixed or can it be changed?
Ethan S on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Normal birdcage flash hider. it can be removed easily
Is this barrel threaded? to where you could add a suppressor?
michael b on Jun 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is threaded, but for a flash hider. Depending on the suppressor you can get a flash hider adaptor for it.
I hope this helps!
Can the space inbeetween the rail and flash hider have a m4 style fixed sight placed in that gap?
Jackson Y on Jun 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not really. Not only is there not enough room but most fixed front sights double as gas blocks and are designed to fit on the thicker portion of the barrel. They do make slimmer ones but a good fixed front sight has divers drilled in the barrel at 6 o'clock to prevent any movement. Which will cost you. Friction is not enough. Want a fixed sight buy an upper that has one. If you don't like the hand guards psa has, buy a good quality set with heat shields from a company like FAB defense. They'll be solid and even lighter than key mod or mlok.
Can it be suppressed given the gas block?
akathedevil on Jun 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I've put a silencerco omega on it. It will get pretty dirty after 400-500 rounds. This was spanning about 6 hours of rifle training. I just pulled the BCG out wiped it down and oiled it back up. Kept running for another 4-5 hours and another 400-500 rounds.
What is the gas tube length?

Another fine PSA product
This is my third PSA rifle and I've been thoroughly impressed with the quality and value of these fine rifles compared to others I've owned in the past. Best selling point is they are Made in the USA!

Can’t beat this for the price
Bought this upper along with a pistol build kit to go on a spikes lower. I’ve been buying from PSA since 2011. This product, along with everything else I’ve purchased is top notch. Fitment to lower is nice and snug. Zero complaints. Accurate and runs like a sewing machine.

As Expected, but Not as
Ordered this upper to go on a PSA AR Pistol lower that will probably become a SBR in the future. I was shooting a percentage of Wolf Gold 55gr .223 and Wolf Steel 55gr .223. I ordered this for a travel gun for when I travel between home and the Carolinas. I wanted something small but stable to travel and be used as a home defense weapon. Keeping tight groups was not what I was expecting and I really didn't get them either. I tried to do a 25 yard zero since I would never really need to shoot beyond 100 yards. At 25 yards, the groups were not super great. I was able to get a 1.5 in group at best. Again, not the worst case scenario because 100 yards is my longest expected shot with this pistol.
After getting irons and a Sig Romeo zeroed, I wanted to test to see how it ran. I had not FTF, FTE, or other issues in the firing process. I shot about 150 rounds total and all was well. Then the MLOK started to come loose and move forward. Not a huge deal, because I had tools on hand to put the rail back and retighten it on the free-float ring. Hopefully it holds on the next range day at the end of the month. Beyond that, the rail system gets really hot, so gloves were necessary and an angled foregrip is in the mail. I will test to ensure that the rail doesn't keep sliding off. Finally, I went to the 10 yd line and just did a 2in 10-50 yd ad hoc zero and was able to keep all shots roughly where I wanted them. Failure drills from 10 to 25 yds had no problem going in the A Zones. For the price a great pistol or SBR starter.

1/4 moa at a thousand yards with irons..no but very very nice
Zero failures to fire or function. 1/4 moa at 1000 yards... just kidding. But a serious truck or house upper for your pistol lower. Close quarter , you aint gonna miss. Superb.
Yes that is a pos red dot.

Very nice upper
Haven't fired it yet as I am accumulating parts for the pistol lower. Fit and finish is excellent. My only complaint is that it is a 10.5" rather than an 11.5" bbl.
