Could you just remove the front sight post?
Anthony M on Jun 20, 2018
Is the barrel a .22lr specific barrel, or is this just a swapped out BCG?
K F on Jun 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is a dedicated upper. No gas tube (as it is a blowback system) and the twist rate is one much more suited for rimfire 22. Comes with standard upper reciever, handguards and everything else. Just pop this on to an existing 5.56/223 AR lower.
will the bolt carrier work in an m16 lower in full auto?
Rick N on Jun 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: yes, but you will need the anti-bounce weight AND the sear trip cage.
Is there a port in the barrel or can I remove front sight??
Me T on Jun 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: As stated in the beginning of the Q & A column:

This is a dedicated upper. No gas tube (as it is a blowback system)
Can the threaded barrel end be capped with a cover that goes over the threads and welded so it is NY legal?
Dan on Apr 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: yes, same threads as a standard .223/5.56 AR.
Could one use this without a recoil assembly(no spring or buffer weight)?
Matt M on Aug 8, 2018
When will this be back in stock?
Jonathan C on Dec 22, 2019
Please get these back in stock before Kommiefornia bans them? I have a CMMG conversion kit but want to build a dedicated 22 for my Boy Scout troop to use when we go to the range.
BBQ Venison on Jan 30, 2019
Is there a maintenance manual for this upper / BCG? My first 40 rounds worked great, then lots of FTF and FTE. I want to be sure it is properly lubricated for the next use.
LAWRENCE S on Sep 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I had pretty much the same issue, but I never cleaned the BCG before I used it. After cleaning the BCG thoroughly and lightly oiling it, it runs 99% perfect, only an occasional FTF, like maybe once per 200 rounds. I have had the best results using CCI Blazer or CCI mini mags. Other ammo has given me more issues so I stick with the CCI and all is good.
When will this be back in stock?
Jonathan C on Dec 22, 2019
Will this work with an Echo trigger in the lower?
Jason H on Aug 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: yes the echo uses a hammer to strike at the same point as a standard AR fire group. No reason why it shouldn't work.

Every New Shooter Falls In Love...
I have a few thousand rounds through this upper, to include two competitions. I originally bought it just so I could keep non-compliant lowers in CA (laws don't apply to 22LR?) I ended up putting a cheapo Holosun red dot on it, and suddenly it was one of my favorite rifles.
It is my go to for training new shooters now. Everyone who has used it has so far had a great experience; this upper is an automatic hit machine. Last weekend I had a new shooter doing hammered pairs, multiple target transitions and timed up drills. She had a great time and left way more pro-gun than she started!

Great upper
Have had this for 6 months now. At first had some failure to fire and a few failures to extract. Maybe 1 or 2 over 300 rounds. BUT now it works perfect. I have several thousand rounds through it now. I tried every ammo brand I could find to see what was most accurate. It was best with CCI Match green tag ammo. !/2 inch at 50 yards. But I did find that CCI sub sonic was almost as good. Same size group BUT once in a while it would throw one out to 1.5 inch size. The Match Green stayed tight through out. So since match green was 13 cents a round and CCI sub sonic is 5 cents a round I use that now. I tried many brands of match Norma , eley, wolf, Winchester a few more I cant remember. Anything that had Match in the name. DONT buy Winchester Match, it was horrible a 5 inch group at 50 yards. I was shocked how bad it was,. Of course i bought a brick of that at Cabelas. Anyone want 450 rounds of that crap. This has a older CMMG bolt carrier assembly . . I know because on mine the firing pin is held in with a pin that must be hammered out to remove the firing pin. I have not yet bothered doing that with several thousand rounds through the gun. The newer CMMG bolts use a regular cotter pin like a regular 5.56 BCG to hold firing pin in. Still the carrier is quite impressive all stainless steel and polished smooth. (at least it looks stainless?). I have a 6-24 scope mounted on mine. Cheapy amazon scope. So put the right ammo through it, it is very accurate Put the wrong and it is all over the place. . Eley Club ammo wasn't bad very consistent but 1.25 inch group at 50 yards. So CCI sub sonic best buy BUT once in a while a flyer,. Want the best CCI Match green tag ammo. Write your review here. It must be at least 20 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Great value
Great upper, no problems after over 500 rounds. Acurate too. It had no problems on top of an 80% lower I milled with an Anderson lower parts kit. Highly recommended.

As advertised
I was going to build a .22LR upper, but for the money I couldn't have built this upper for the sale price I paid. Runs great and my grandkids really enjoy it.

Fun for cheap
A blast to shoot, just like anything else in 22lr. I would recommend for sure. It doesn’t damage the pockets too bad blowing through some 22.

But it! You won't regret it!
Wonderfully built upper! Cheaper than building one and better!
I mated it with an Anderson lower and a mag adapter to use M&P 22 mags (for the LRBHO) replaced the gas bock with a railed one (no gas system to deal with) added a quad rail, a VFG, and faux suppressor to make an M4gery.
Just waiting on my optics.

Great for the price
After a few teething problems the first 20 or so rounds, it works great. I had a few fte, ftf but I couldn't rule out ammo or mag problems with those. Now it's running great, and so much easier to clean than most .22 lr semiautomatics. Shoots about 1- 2 inches at 25 yards offhand. Overall a great upper, you could get better but you're going to pay a lot more.

PSA makes .22LR Perfection!!!!
My PSA .22 upper arrived yesterday and I tested it today. I paired it with PSA's AR15 Complete MOE EPT SBA3 Lower- 5165448150 and it fits perfect. The EPT trigger is amazing compared to my other AR mil spec triggers. A short pickup and a crisp break that was smooth and actually broke before I expected it. My lower included the EPT trigger at no extra cost on sale- I highly recommend it. I boughty a Black Dog 25 rnd mag from PSA. I was a bit worried about this mag due to reviews but it worked very well. The bolt holds open after your last shot, and when you release the mag, the bolt closes. Not a big deal to me and I don't think it's worth buying the adapters for M&P mags unless you already have them. I shot my 5.56 AR's and then I shot this .22 and it was so nice to have a .22 that is the same weight and feel as an AR because it is an AR! This setup is perfect for anyone wanting to shoot an AR but save money on ammo. I noticed that I could rapid fire the .22 faster and easier than the 5.56, naturally. I mounted a rear sight and it was dead accurate. The best thing is that it feels exactly like shooting a 5.56 just with less recoil. I'm in my 40's and I grew up with a Marlin .22 with the tube mag and I loved it but always wanted a Ruger 10-22. I have since bought many guns but never a .22 until I saw PSA offer this one. The upper was in perfect condition. I couldn't find a flaw. The nickle color bolt looks great, just like my LWRC's bolt. The 1 in 16 twist is what a .22LR needs and the bolt functions flawlessly. No misfires!!! My FFL tried to mount a competitors upper on my PSA lower and the front pin got stuck. When I mounted this PSA .22 upper and my Colt uppers on the PSA lower, they both fit perfectly so PSA is making things Mil spec! If you are debating between this PSA .22 upper and a Ruger 10-22, the Umarex Colt or the M&P 15-22 I would say buy this PSA. If you already have an AR lower, all you need is this upper and some mags. The Colt, Ruger and S&W M&P are great guns. They are a little lighter in weight which could be good for a younger child, but they are not mil spec. Plus, you will never grow out of this full size mil spec AR .22. Thanks PSA and happy shooting to all!!
