Robert. P on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 2 lb. 2.2 oz.
Is the gas port drilled?
FREEDOM on Apr 14, 2018
Does it come with gas tube and gas block?
yee y on Apr 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it does not come with gas tube or gas block.
Do you have a left handed option?
dbshotgunn on Apr 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have the left-handed option and it works great! Just tell them you want the left handed one at time of order.
will it fit on a .223 lower ?
willie on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The barrel is intended to be mounted on an AR upper. If the upper is standard mil. spec. upper (most common) it will mount (fit) a standard AR (mill spec.) lower.
What size of gas tube will i need with this barrel?
Wesleye on Nov 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I used an adjustable .750 gas block with a rifle length stainless steel gas tube, the outside diameter of the gas tube is .180 and the inside diameter is .114. If you order or buy the gas block with the gas tube you should be good. Before assembling you can check the gas tube for proper fit in the bolt gas key.
Is it a sub moa barrel?
Rob D on Jun 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Mine has been pretty much a 1 moa so far with the proper ammo. Of course it likes the Match King the best. Not really a sub moa, but then again I haven't broken it in completely yet.
Who makes this barrel?
Bubba on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You would have to call them and ask. Mine says .224 Valkyrie on it.
Can a standard AR 15 BCG, be used with the 224 Valkyrie upper ?
Brian R on Jun 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The carrier is the same, but the actual bolt is different, the 6.8spc and the 224 Valkyrie use the same bolt (the bolt face is larger than the 5.56 with the 6.8 and the Valkyrie ) so you would need a bolt or complete bolt and carrier. I hope this answers you questions.
Will this 224 valkrie upper be direct fit to my Sig M400 AR15, or should i go with a different lower such as the PA-10?
John G on Jun 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I believe the Sig M 400 lower fits all standard mil spec AR15 uppers so if you use a 6.8 spc magazine and the .224 valkrie bcg and barrel in your upper set up you should be good to go. the PA- 10 would not work because its set up for the larger .308 platform. you have to use the 6.8 SPC mag because its wider opening fits with the .224 valkrie fatter case diameter, a 5.56/.223 mag is too narrow.
does the 224 Valkyrie use the same BCG and magazine as the standard AR15?
mark h on Jun 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, the Valkyrie does not use the standard .556 or 223 BCG Magazine It uses the 6.8 SPC BCG and magazine. The BCG Palmetto includes with the barrel works just fine in a mil spec AR15. All 6.8 mags wrk well too. FYI-I have ARs in 4 different calibers and the Valkyrie is my favorite. Very accurate at 100 yards.
does the barrel and bolt fit the standard A2- 5.56 cal upper? or does it require the 308 cal upper?
mario g on Jul 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: .224 Valkyrie is based on the 6.8SPC case and is designed to run in the normal AR15 form factor. To run .224 Valkyrie you need a barrel in the chambering, a bolt for 6.8/.224, and magazines compatible with 6.8SPC.
Will a .223/5.56 flash hider work on this barrel or do I need a 6.8?
Robbie W on Nov 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes a standard flash hider will work. You want to stick with a .224 caliber muzzle device, which is the standard .223/5.56 flash hider.
Can you replace an ar15 barrel with the .224 Valkyrie barrel?
Perry L on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but the BCG needs to match .224 Valkyrie/6.8spc. Also, you need to use a .224valkyrie/6.8spc mag as well. This barrel does not come with a gas block or gas tube, so you will also need a .750 gas block and rifle length gas tube. If you are not familiar with changing barrels, torquing, etc... it may be wise to consider purchasing psa complete upper with BCG and CH. The only thing you should need at that point is a 6.8spc mag.
Can I install this combo on a Bushmaster carbon 15 ??
rooster on Aug 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There should be no issue with that. Its designed as part of the new MSR 15 calibers. Each one is compatible with AR 15 basic parts, only differences being barrel, bcg, and sometimes magazine.
Can a A2 Sight be used with this barrel?
BiGDE on Apr 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not without drilling for install pins.
what is the twist direction?
robbie on Jan 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I believe it is RH twist. Seems to stabilize 90 grain bullets just fine.
Are these chambered with a true SAAMI spec reamer?
Larry M on Sep 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are chambered and ready to go head space is also correct. The only problem I had is with the extractor I had to remove the o-ring and just use the spring worked great then.
Why is there a "step" machined into the barrel in the area where the flash surpressor or muzzle brake attaches?
Dennis F on Jul 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is the first step that is for the muzzle brake and crush washer and then there is the second step an inch or two back that is for aesthetic or weight reduction or at least that is my supposition, thanks
Is anyone having any luck with the 90 grain SMK??
Mike R on Oct 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have been getting just over MOA out of the SMK's with this barrel. It really likes the American Eagle 75gr FMJ's and the 90gr Fusion for factory loaded rounds. My best results have been hand loading 70gr Barnes TSX in this barrel, 0.5 MOA!
I noticed that the thread was 1/2 by 28. Can you use a 223_55 6 muzzle device. Or do you have to get a special on?e
Peter V on Jun 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Mil spec AR barrels are threaded 1/2x28.
Mil sec flash suppressors are threaded 1/2x28.
Answer... If your muzzle device is mil spec then yes.
Does this come with a barrel nut?
Trevor T on Apr 24, 2018
why is my bolt carrier in this combo grey instead of black nitride?
s m on Apr 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You should reach out to PSA. Mine came with a black nitride finish.
Do you ship this combo to CT?
Harry S on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is a non regulated barrel and bolt. Just machined pieces of steel. I believe PSA will ship this to CT. If you want it, go ahead and order it and see if PSA holds it up for some reason during checkout.
Will this be restocked or am I just wasting my time waiting for it?
Drew B on Dec 20, 2018
Why doesn't anyone have this barrel in stock?, I've checked jp, faxon, rainer arms, and the list goes on.

Very Accurate
Very impressed with the fit and finish of barrel and bolt. Accuracy was spot on. Two shots stacked and third shot 1/8" away with 90 grain federal fusion @ 100 yards. Will purchase more PSA barrels...

Excellent and accurate combo
Very happy and now my favorite AR caliber. I've shot Factory 90 grain Federal premium, 75 grain Federal and over 200 of my own hand loads of 77 grain Sierra match, 55 grain Lehigh, 85 grain Barnes Match burners and even a few 62 grain tracers. The tracers are the only ones that I have not found the accuracy node for yet but haven't experimented with them enough yet. The factory 90's are a little hot in my opinion. They loosen up primer pockets although I have not had any blown primers yet. I load the 85 grain Match burners to 2700 FPS and get 3/4 moa accuracy without the pressure spike. I'm sure I could load the 90's down a hair and get great results also but have a lot of the match burners for now. I have also loaded the 85 grains to sub sonic (with Trail Boss non cycling) and get at least the same accuracy at 50 yards suppressed and very quiet. I have killed a 300 LB hog at 110 yards and (2) large does at 175 / 200 yards so far, all head shots. Longest shot so far was 280 yards on 6"steel. Dialed the dope into my SWFA 10X (also a great scope) and put the first round almost dead center 1st shot. I love this caliber and palmetto has done it right. I can't wait to take it out to 700+

Pleasant Surprise
I used this bolt and barrel combo to build a rifle specifically for long range precision. After reading so many bad reviews about the 90 grain bullets with a 1/7 barrel I got worried but went ahead and finished the build. So far this combo has shot 90 grain Fusion and 75 grain American Eagle sub MOA. It will put those Fusion bullets all over top of each other. Very, very happy with my purchase. I haven't tried the 90 grain SMK yet, but I hope they perform as well as the Fusion. 2 boxes of Fusion ammo fired so far.

Show Promise
I put these in a psa upper and have shot 1" to 11/4" 3 shot groups with the federal 75 gr. fmj factory loads right off the bat sighting it in,so I am certain reloads with match bullets will yield sub 1" groups.

Beautifully machined
As always, PSA uses quality steel combined with excellent machine work. PSA is the place to buy quality at an affordable price.

Barrel performed better than expected for the price. So satisfying seeing 3/4" groups at 60 yards

Dang Nifty
I built mine with a Seekins adjustable gas block and still haven't shot her much but within the first 30 rounds I shot a 13/16 group.

Took me about 200 rounds but I"m loving this combo
Not sure how much of my initial inaccuracy was me(probably 99%). But after about 200 rounds of 75gr American Eagle FMJ I can reliably hit steel targets at 400 yards. I know that's not a big deal for some. But I'm pretty new, and I can tell a BIG difference in accuracy past 200 yards between this rifle and my 5.56 AR's. So whatever is happening, it's helping me to dial in my hits at 400 yards. I hope to eventually go longer, but that's as far as our range goes. Maybe when the corn comes down I can find a stretch of land. I also sho some 90Gr Fusions and those are unbelievable. I was hitting a 8" plate at 400 yards and could see the hits practically touching eachother on the marks/steel/paint chips etc.... I can't wait to dial in a reload now that I have enough donor brass to start working up loads. Wish Hornady would finish their Valkyrie dies.

Fantastic barrel and BCG!!!
You can not get much better at this price point. The barrel will shoot sub MOA. I don't have Glass on this gun yet but with open sites and my astigmatism factored in, I'm still getting 1.5 - 3" groups at 100 yards! I'm looking forward to laser surgery!
