Given this COMPLETE lower is set up for 9mm, are the buffer and spring included designed for 9mm carbines or are they just generic buffer and springs like those used on 223/556 and need to be replaced? Thanks

I would not recommend this weapon system due to design issues
Three main points to this review:
1.The build quality of the internal parts need significant revision.
2.Customer service can be very difficult to get a hold of for resolution.
3.Palmetto State Armory was not willing to honor their warranty.

My phone calls and emails in regards to these products for resolution span over a month now, so those points are condensed. I have both the AR9 complete lower (SKU 516447578) and 10.5” Barrel complete upper (SKU 516449744). All parts are stock with the exception of the buffer tube, which I replaced the Shockwave brace with an SB Tactical Brace. I put 150 rounds through the weapon with no jams or failures to fire. By all means, it was really fun to take out on the range. When I took the upper and lower receivers apart, multiple problems were apparent. Looking into the lower, there were many fine metal shavings, there was chaffing against the bottom left side of the buffer tube, the ejector was loose and came out with a deformed tip from gouging the BCG. It worked itself loose because it’s not pinned in place. There’s 2 set screws that hold it by pressure. The upper looked fine minus the BCG, which has major issues. The bottom section of the BCG is riddled with dents and now looks like a piece of corrugated tin.

I used PSA’s online messaging system to describe my problem with their product. I didn’t hear anything back within a day or two (maybe I did something wrong on my end for submitting the form or there was internet trouble), so I called and described what happened. They sent me a shipping label within a couple days and a repair form that I filled out as detailed as possible with order numbers and SKU's, I shipped both halves, and they received it April 1st in the morning according tracking. I eventually get it back on the 15th. Nothing was fixed or replaced. I contact PSA by email and they say “Your repair has been completed. The repair team notes from our repair team states the following: The buffer tube was not even tightened down. This may have been the issue. Installed missing part and tightened down the buffer tube.” The missing part that was referred to is the extractor which I put it in a bag with the lower receiver and the buffer tube was definitely not loose. In a later conversation with PSA, the damage is brought up due to a different reason, not a loose buffer tube. The biggest problem though is that there is now additional damage on the BCG, the gouges are deeper on the BCG, and there’s additional damage on the extractor. Anyways, I reach out to PSA by phone on the 19th explaining the situation and after a short but nice conversation, I simply request to receive a new extractor, BCG, and buffer tube. I have before and after pictures showing the differences in damages, so they tell me to send those pictures in with the order numbers so they can evaluate the situation. And they’ll get back to me.

They don’t get back with me. I give them a phone call on the morning of the 25th and customer service doesn’t know what’s going on, even after looking up the emails with the pictures I sent the previous week so we had to discuss it. I’m put on hold for a couple of minutes, then I’m told that they’re only willing to replace the extractor and buffer tube, not the BCG. Their reasoning is that the BCG is undergoing normal wear from “rapid fire” therefore they will not replace it. Even after I tried discussing how it’s gouged and damaged multiple places from the hammer on the ramp where it should be smooth and that damage isn’t normal, PSA just repeated their response: “no” because it’s from “rapid fire”. The conversation ends with them saying they said they’d send me a return label. I got the email requesting info for the return label, I responded, and I still haven’t received a label.

At this point, I just want a new BCG that's not going to fail, become gouged, or show signs of irregular wear after only 150 rounds

I would recommend to a friend
I’ve had the upper and lower since January, and I’ve put well over a thousand rounds threw it and can say it’s my favorite so far. It performs very well,

Works perfectly
I have mine attached to a Foxtrot Mike upper and the lower functions perfectly. Fired close to 250 rounds so far with zero failures or issues with feed / eject. Both Magpul and Glock 9mm magazines fit with zero issues.
Side note: my wife loves it as well, and so, I’m now going to have to buy another.

Needs bad lever bjt great price for billet
Nice billet lower. No last round but thats fine with me for the quality you get for cheap money. A last round hold open billet lower has to be 200.00 more

Awesome lower for the money you cannot beat it
Fantastic lower. It does not have last round bolt hold open but other than that it is fantastic. It personally does not bother me because I always check my weapon after shooting anyways.
