Does it have a last round bolt hold open?
Robert B on May 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Both of the ones I purchased have a last round bolt hold open however on both, the arm that extendes into the magazine (PSA marked mag) was too long and was occasionally catching on a cartridge rim. This is easily fixed by filing off a 1/16" or so off the end but I wish PSA would fix this known issue. I purchased one around when they first came out and another one just a few months ago and both had the same issue. Other than that they run great.
What 16" classic type upper do you suggest with this lower that also runs the Colt style mags?
Kevin S on Jul 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: So I can use your 16" classic upper and would just need the hybrid bolt carrier? Which I don't see on the site? I'm trying to find out what all I need before I purchase. And I'm ready to purchase now, so all your help is appreciated.
Can this lower be used with 45acp upper? Im new to pistol calibers and was wanting to know if this 9mm lower would work also with a 45acp upper.

Extractor problem
Had to send back lower due to extractor issues. My 9mm AR kept stove piping even after trying two different uppers on this lower. Will update after I receive lower back.

Good Lower at a Great Price
I have three of these lowers. I purchased the first one when they were first offered. Then they disappeared. I just purchased two more a couple of months ago. The fit and finish is nice. Bang for the buck these can't be beat. The complete lower is almost the same price as a high end adapter block I have been using on my builds. The only issue is the bolt catch is too long and will ride a cartridge in the magazine and stop proper cycling. Two easy fixes, file down the bolt catch or replace it with a different bolt catch. I highly recommend this lower even with the bolt catch issue.

Great lower. Needed some tweaking.
Bought this lower on sale since it’d be cheaper to swap out parts than start from scratch. Changed buttstock, trigger to a Timney, and the grip. Put a complete upper on it from a different manufacturer. At first I was getting a dozen or so fte’s per mag using Palmetto mags. I tweaked the extractor with a wrench so it’s closer to the bolt and now it runs flawless. It’s a really fun gun. The extractor problem is very common in Colt style AR’s. Takes 30 seconds to fix. I’ll be buying another one of these.

I don’t recommend this product
Finish is good fit is good the bolt catch is too long it is being hit buy shells trying to come up the magazine as it cycles
This is a simple fix that your q.c department should catch and fix.

How to fix rounds stuck jamed or no cycling
Usually what happens is that the bolt travels to far back which is why you need the spacer at the back of the buffer tube or you can purchase the correct buffer which is usually over 5 ounces and is longer than normal 5.56 Carbine buffer .this will cancel the need to buy the buffer spacer like the original Colts 9mm have , some people will use $.25 quarters as spacer shims until they get the buffer purchased . What has to happen is that the 9mm bolt carrier group cannot pass the bolt stop catch more than buy an 1/8”of an inch on it way rearward, anymore than that will leave room for an empty brass case to get stuck and make its way into the trigger group. This has been my personal experience and this is just for reference of my experience only .
