What is the difference between the Freedom Classic Lower, Complete Classic Lower and the Complete Blackhawk Classic Lower?
Joe W on Apr 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve bought both and while I think both lowers are great buys. I believe the Blackhawk lower has an overall cleaner break with trigger pull and different buttstock with a sling attachment.
What is the difference between high deck and low deck ... ar15 lowers?
St C on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is another aspect to this question that becomes a "back in the day" thing. Hope there is enough space in this block. With the initial introduction of the M-16 for the military, the area in the receiver above the selector was milled out to accommodate the auto sear for full auto. Coming forward in time when there was an effort to civilize the M-16 as the AR-15, there was a lot of gun control opposition in that, supposedly, an AR-15 could readily be converted back to full auto M-16 capability. Colt enters the picture. They forged and machined their AR-15 receivers so there was solid aluminum above the selector that was formerly used by the auto sear. So, you probably have surmised by now that a receiver that is milled deep and wide enough for the auto sear is a "low deck" configuration. And, a receiver that is milled in such a way to prevent an auto sear usage, is a "high deck" configuration. There are variations of this used to this day to avoid conflict with Colt, such as, thicker receiver walls in the selector area, leaving some metal above the selector , thereby creating a defacto "mid deck", and some have an additional thin vertical cross wall above the selector. All to prevent the use of an auto sear without serious receiver modification.
What Caliber is it?
jordan w on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Depends upon which upper receiver is attached to it, which is your decision. This assembled lower will not, however, function with a round of greater length that the .223Rem or 5.56mmNATO round because of magazine length constraints. You could attach a .300 Blackout upper to it, or even an upper for a wildcat round that is not longer than the standard .223 round.
Will this lower work with any Palmetto State upper in .223 Wylde?
Steven S on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely yes!! :)
So this will use 5.56 or 223?
Joejoe on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It can be used with either caliber. You must add a completed upper(either .556 or .223 caliber) for it to be a functioning weapon.
what is pictogram?
john b on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I think that means that it does not say the words "safe" and "fire", but instead has pictures indicating whether it is on "safe" or "fire"
If I am correct this product has all metal parts. Am I right?
Marcus J on Apr 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You are incorrect. The sliding buttstock and the grip are not metallic. The fire-control parts are metal. The buffer tube and lower receiver itself are metal. The buffer spring and buffer (mostly) are metal. PSA sells good stuff; you do not need to worry about what you buy from PSA being junk.
Does it work with .22 upper?
Xavier on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, as long as the 22 upper is designed to function with a mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver. PSA 22LR Uppers will 100% function with this.

Is this stock adjustable like the standard 6 position stocks?
James R on May 1, 2018
Is this lower compatible with PSA 7" Nitride 5.56 NATO 1/7 Nitride 6" Lightweight M-Lok Slick Side Upper - With BCG & CH?
Martin G on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Short Answer: Yes, but it is not legal right away.

Long Answer: Combining an upper with a barrel length less than 16" on a lower receiver with a stock is considered a Short Barreled Rifle and is regulated by the National Firearms Act (NFA). In order to do this legally, you must fill out a form and pay a $200 tax. The waiting period to get approved for an NFA item is about 8 months, on average. If you like the 7" M-lok upper and don't want to wait 8 months to get out to the range, I would recommend combining it with an AR Pistol Lower. This makes the firearm a handgun, which can have a barrel length less than 16" and not be regulated by the NFA. Link below:
Will this work with 7.62 x 39 upper?

If I change the stock out can I use this for a pistol build?
dave v on Jun 29, 2018

Is the color on the stock where the Blackhawk! Logo is black or brown?
Brett A on May 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Looks more distressed copper or bronze... Ordering 2,and I will update when they arrive.
Thomas F on May 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: All military spec AR-15 uppers/lowers follow a standard pattern and are interchangeable.
What is the lbs on the trigger?
Zachary H on Oct 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: i have bought several, and all break around 6, to 6.5 lbs. which is where they are suppose to break. it's just a mil-spec trigger, and you really don't want a lighter trigger unless you are shooting competition. and most places have rules against using lighter triggers in competition,
Does it come with the takedown pins??
Adrian F on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it came with the correct takedown pins. It fit my lower just fine and it works as good as any of the other lowers in this price range. Hope this helps.
So this lower dont need nothing else beside the upper?
Peewee on Aug 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is a complete lower. I bought it and had planned on putting together an upper with parts from other manufacturers. But, PSA had a sale on a complete upper that I purchase. All I had to do was put the two together and push two pins into place and it was ready to fire. Only other thing you will have to buy is a magazine to hold the ammo.
Can this work with uppers from other manufacturers?
Gungundin on Jul 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes Sir the Blackhawk Classic lower fits just fine to any Mil Spec Uppers which I had tried to my Ruger 5.56,
to Anderson Upper, ATI Upper, and Germany's HERA irs rail system.. BushMaster., the Blackhawk Classic
fits just like it's home.

ghost on Aug 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it will work just fine. I have used my lower with 3 uppers of different calibers. 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, and 7.62x39. All worked just fine.
What color is this?
kkilner on Dec 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It’s black. Everything matches much more than in PSA’s picture, I think it was the lighting that was off in theirs.
Can I use a 6.5 creedmoor upper?
David Gonzalez on Nov 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. The 6.5 Creedmore upper requires an AR10 lower receiver.
Will this lower take a shorter than 16in barrel?
abetico on Sep 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It will fit, but you will be breaking federal law at the felony level. You need a special stamp for a short barreled rifle.
Do I need a FFL to purchase a complete lower receiver?
Eric P on Jun 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you will need to have it shipped to an FFL.
Will this work with 762.x39 upper?
William B on May 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: IT should. I have pared a different psa lower with the complete upper 762.x39. And it worked great. Ray
Will this lower work with my 6.5 grendel upper?
Llewellyn D on Aug 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I'm not a gunsmith but I've built a number of AR's including a 6.5 long as your Grendel upper is a mil-spec part, it should fit this lower. Since a Grendel upper is usually intended for long range shooting, the next thing I'd look at is a bit better trigger than the single-stage basic fire control system that comes with this particular lower.
Will this lower work on a PSA AR-47 upper?
Hunter1968 on Feb 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but you won't be able to use AK mags (like with a PSA AR-47 lower). You'll need to use AR-style 7.62x39 mags like C-Products or ASC sell...

Always pleased!
First class lower with some nice features and at an always great Palmetto price. Still haven't matched it with that "special" upper I'm watching for. ALL of the lowers I've purchased previously match perfectly to uppers, perform flawlessly, and quite frankly are at a price point that for most of our needs makes it difficult to justify buying a stripped lower and a lower kit and then assembling it ourselves.

Great price for the quality! One issue though
First off everything came in very nice and neatly packaged. Not scrapes or nicks I had one issue where the trigger dissconecter wouldn't release. Luckily the FFL I had it shipped to had an extra one I bought for 3$ the dissconecter was about 1/8 of an in to long so not to big of a deal but a slight annoyance. The fit and finish of this lower makes up for it though!
Great quality no lose parts

Nice lookin'... waiting for upper to puts rounds downrange
Looks like a well made lower. No sharp edges or loose parts. Once I can get it to the range will update review.
Ordered and received through a local FFL deader within 10d. The upper I ordered same time is still processing. So, we wait for it to put the rifle together.

Get some!
Price is great, great quality. Stock is kinda crappy but at this price I can overlook it! The trigger is nice and crisp! Safety has a positive click and stays in position. Gun goes boom when I want it too and it stays safe when I want it to! I recommend these lowers!
