Does this really only work with their hybrid upper? And does anyone know if you can just purchase the upper receiver rather then the complete upper?
McVaugh960 on Jun 13, 2018
Will this work with the PSA uppers that are not hybrid uppers? Also, will uppers from other companies work
Tyler C on Jun 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes this will work with any mil spec upper
Above description states “Must use Palmetto State Armory Hybrid 9mm upper”. Does this mean the upper receiver(stripped) only or the complete upper receiver (including BCG)? Also I see another question about using other mfg. uppers And answer said yes. Is this true or not?

So is the bolt catch just for looks?
Damain A on May 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use a spartan upper from Joe Bob Outfitters that has a LRBHO and bolt holds open fine
Is this a pistol lower? Or rifle
Zebulan D on Jun 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: EITHER
My lower has a threaded bolt catch instead of a smooth port to drive a roll pin into. Which bolt catch should I install that will work?
Brewchad on Aug 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I used a mil spec bolt catch on mine. The screw does the same thing as a roll pin but a lot more user friendly.

P.S. adding a bolt catch does not make it last round bolt hold open, it only allows you to lock the bolt to the rear manually.
will glock 19 magazines work on this?
paul r on Aug 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Both of my original Glock magazines from my Glock 19 work with this receiver.
Other than being 9mm, is this lower otherwise mil-spec? Thanks.
Dave G on Jul 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: As far as the lower parts kit goes, yes it accepts milspec parts. Standard AR bolt catch, pivot pin, takedown pin, trigger, safety and buffer tube all are correct. PSA says you have to use their correct 9mm upper with the lower. There is also glock mag style and colt mag style 9mm lowers. Make sure it’s the correct bolt for your chosen mag style.
what buffer and spring works for the AR9?
playthegame72 p on Feb 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: A heavy buffer spring and a buffer 5.5 ounce to 7.5 ounces have worked best for me.
Will this accept any ar 15 lower parts kit?
Dennis B on Mar 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They will all fit but there are a few out there that won't function/reset properly due to the shape of the hammer. I have Hiperfire triggers in mine and they work great.
Is this a polymer mag release? And if so are there any steel ones that can replace it?
Corey T on Mar 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It is a polymer mag release. That is, in fact, the only negative feature on the lower, that I would change. That being said, it does function fine, and I have had no issues with it. I do recommend this item for your build.
Is this lower compatible with a binary trigger?
baldezz on May 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I dont see why it wouldnt, it's still a drop in trigger and its pinned in the same place as a normal one is. Should be fine.
Will this lower work with Foxtrot Mike Glock Style upper?
tlmcgibiany on Apr 30, 2019

My glock factory magazine is not seating fully so most rounds are jamming back into the casing. Is there anything i can do to fix this?
DeAndre G on Jul 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have two of these lowers and think the problem is you should download your magazines, and open your bolt before you insert the first mag. If these a your loads check your cartridge's overall length
. Could be too long.l
Is this considered a Qc10 or a New Frontier style Lower??

How do you remove the pre-installed magazine release lever? I used a hex wrench, but it won't back out.
Mark B on Apr 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: There are a massive amount of threads on the hex bolt that holds the catch. It is very easy to strip out if you're not careful.

There were some issues...
I assembled this lower with the recommended PSA upper. Oddly enough, the bolt carrier kept striking the ejector. I don't mean a slight rub...I mean it would hit the ejector and would not travel forward. So, I took it apart and added a spacer between the ejector and where it mounts to the lower. That solved the problem, but I think it's kind of strange that their own parts did not work together. It didn't put me off really. I can fix things like this, but I have to wonder why it was like that in the first place. It's been a while since I bought mine and I wonder if the issue has been dealt with, but mine is cool now. I have purchased other PSA stuff since then without any issues.

Buffer detention pen
When I close the upper to lower the bolt is supposed to Be a negative fit between Bolt And buffer on my upper it is positive, so when the carbine Is shot it doesn’t run smooth because the bolt has a space between buffer.

Impressive!
Was surprised to find the rear detent spring channel had a retaining set screw. Makes stock changes a breeze. Also the bolt release is held in place by a threaded pin. No more roll pin. I just wish all lowers were configured this way. No magazine retention issues at all.

Miscut ejector and no Bolt release screw.
Quality control on some PSA products is hit or miss. This is one of them; the receiver is beautiful, but did not come as pictured. It was missing the bolt catch set screw. My ejector was also miscut leaving it with a sharp upwards slanted point. Called PSA and the rep did not have part number for either the BC set screw or the extractor; she said I may have to ship it back.

After a long wait to receive the product this is not very pleasant.

Add The BC Set Screw!
As often as the subject comes-up here in the reviews, PSA needs to consider just installing the bolt-catch set screw or putting one in the box when it ships. I had to call and request one as well as others. Nor was there a 1/4x28 set screw for the take-up adjustment included, albeit a very nice feature needed-or-not. The screws may very well be included in a PSA LPK, but many of us use what we have on-hand already. However, it assembles and runs very well without any issues at all. I think it is well worth the sale price.

Ejector falling out
I do recommend this product but the quality control could be improved slightly. After around 300 rounds thru it the ejector fell out. Of course it stopped working and I waited until I got home from the desert to troubleshoot it. Didn't realize what happened to the ejector until that inspection. To bad, that ejector is laying out in the desert somewhere. Now I'm waiting on PSA to send me out a replacement (hello psa?) Make sure to locktite the 2 set screws that hold it in as soon as you build it up.

Awesome as always from Palmetto!!!
Shipping was fast and aside from a missing pin for the bolt catch; which they shipped one out right away; the lower is beautiful! I do wish it had a LRBHO though.
