The Gen2 PA10 receivers are functionally compatible with the Gen1 upper receivers, however we recommend matching Gen2 lowers to Gen2 uppers for best appearance.  There are external cosmetic differences when mixing Gen1 and Gen2 upper and lower receivers that some may not find appealing.  Gen1 lowers will be available in the future for those who want a cosmetic match.

The AR10 platform does not enjoy a common design between manufacturers, like the AR15. As a result, there can and will be subtle differences in the parts kits of various manufacturers. Some parts, like the fire control group, are shared with the AR15 platform to preserve the options for upgrading. For best results, we recommend only using PSA PA10 parts with our uppers and lower receivers. We do not recommend using other manufacturers parts in our products.

how long is 18"?
nite f on Jan 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: About a foot and a half long
So it's your recommendation to not use this kit with DPMS design 80% lower? Only a PAS lower?
Kirk David H on May 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have built a 80% lower (built at 80% arms) and after using a router to mill out the fire control group area, ( and it worked great) I tried to pin the upper to the lower and found out that where the upper meets the lower at the back where the charging handle is pulled back to charge the weapon, it was too high, or too tall to let the handle come back. After removing about .050 in material from the top of the lower, it works just fine. Had to paint the spot where I did the removal of material on the lower...but it does work if you don't mind having to grind a little and paint a very small stop on the lower, just behind the charging handle area...

Can I get this upper with a adjustable gas block?
Tim T on Jun 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not currently, although it’s a major oversight considering the 6.5CM model already comes with one, so it’s not like they don’t have a distributor. The adjustable gas is crucial for this rifle, they tend to be quite overgassed.

PSA Gen2 PA-10 MOE EPT Lower With Overmolded Grip - 516446483
BEST ANSWER: yes, it's a good combination. You're not actually building the rifle, you're assembling it. Putt the front upper hingepoint into the front lower hinge point and push the PIN through both until it snaps in position. Close the rear of the upper against the lower, push the pen in until it snaps into position, and you are done. No you do not need to buy anything else. Headspace is already set so take it to the range and have fun. Once I got mine dialed-in, I had a blast. 5 round group a half inch circle at a hundred yards with a 20 inch barrel.
Will this upper fit an Aero Precision lower?
Lee B on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My Gen2 PSA Upper does not fit my Aero Precision Lower.
My Aero Precision Upper will fit my PSA Gen2 Lower.
Both are said to be DPMS LR-308 patterned, but their are slight differences. I have a Tennesse Arms LR-308 Lower on order, it will be interesting to see how it fits into the mix.
Will this fit a D5 tactical lower. It’s a DPMS gen 1 lower? Can anyone help me with this.
JUANIMAL on Jun 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would suggest that you match this upper with a PSA gen 2 lower receiver. The AR10 platform is not standard like the AR15. Meaning it might work or it might not.

I am new to this if I get this upper and a lower will it be work in or would I need something else?
Cn789 on Nov 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If u get both the upper and lower, all u have to do is place them together & push in two pins to lock them in place. Very easy.

I too purchased the upper & the lower seperate because it was less expensive that way. The only thing u would be missing is the magazine which u could purchase seperate as well.
Is the barrel fluted?

BEST ANSWER: No. The barrel is not fluted.
I bought an Anderson Lower a year ago... just starting to work on the build.... will this complete upper work with my lower?
Jerry P on Oct 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the lower. I was successful using an 80% lower from 80% Arms (with some modifications). My grandson used this same upper with an Aero Precision lower that simple will not work. He is going to get one from PSA to match the upper. By the way, PSA recommends using their lower with their upper.
Mine will not run suppressed and will need an adjustable gas block. Should I be looking for a .750 gas block, or does this upper need a different size?
TexAgs on Jun 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It's a standard .750" gas block.
If I bye the upper and lower does it come with everything I need to put it together? I never purchased like this before and need to get educated.. lol
Don M on May 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the upper comes with the bolt carrier group and the charging handle. I also purchased a Palmetto AR-10 GEN-2 Lower. They perform perfectly together. I love this AR 10 Rifle.
How is the accuracy with these barrels?
Tanker on Mar 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It's more accurate than me. I get 2" grouping at 200yds with a 16x scope. Dropped a deer at 280 yds freehand from a seated position last year.
Does the rail on the upper add or subtract any moa on the scope?
Gaige on Aug 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Are you saying like a 20 MOA scope base? If so, no. Just a standard flat upper rail.
Will the Gen 1 lower work with this upper?
Jiffy on May 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the response. I jumped the gun and ordered it before I got a response. I didn't have to do any modifications and it fits great with no slop Incase any others are wondering. Great deal on a great upper.
Being this is chambered in 308 well this chamber and shoot a 7.62?? And Recommendations for long or short buffer tube and which buffer bolt and spring to run?
Dennis S on Apr 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will shoot 7.62x51. I bought a PSA complete lower that came with a carbine buffer tube. It doesn’t have a ton of recoil. Whether you choose a rifle or carbine setup AR10 and AR15 buffers and springs are not cross compatible. The BCG is longer than an AR15’s so the buffer is shorter to compensate. Supposedly on the PSA lowers the buffer tube is a proprietary length that will accept AR15 buffers. I haven’t confirmed that however.
What kind of scope do youRecommend for hunting deer and hogs what size rectangle do you recommend hey 40 mm or a 50 mm?
Snowman1 on Apr 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I like the Vortex crossfire II hog hunter 3x12 56mm AO Iit is a good low light scope for the money. The lighted reticle is good also to help acquire the target in low light. But it is all about personal preference to what you use it for.
Will this upper be compatible with a CORE Rifle Systems .308 lower?
Brian R on Feb 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, most 308 platform uppers and lowers are very proprietary. Palmetto gen2 should be matched with a palmetto Gen 2 lower.
does a stainless steel barrel perform better with or without chrome lining?
Jack D on Feb 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: depends on what you mean by performs better, chrome can cut some erosion and corrosion, but accuracy can be argued some say yes some say little change yes it will last longer.
Who manufactures the barrel?
Hessler on Nov 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I do believe Palmetto makes there own things and from what I have experienced along with a good friend of mine that also shops here for most if our ar and a10 parts they have a good thing going and accurate parts and barrels
Will this fit a lower from a S&W M&P 10 6.5 Creedmoor?
Jerry S on Oct 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The .308 uses a AR10 lower, so it should work. As long as it’s the Creedmoor and not Grendel which uses an AR15 lower.
Will this upper Work with an Leapers UTG Recon Flex M-lok Bipod Tl-bpdm01 fit?

Nice tight grouping at a cost effective price for my AR10 build. I did change the A2 to a Mas Defense Muzzle break. Very happy with how this rifle looks and shoots after completed.

I had to change the upper receiver because it would not fit the lower that I had. I had an Aro lower so I used the same type of upper, and they fit fine.

Very nice upper.
I was pleased when my Pa10 upper arrived within a few days. I mounted a set of Magpul MBUS PRO Steel sights. At 25 yards I shot a 3/4" group resting on a sandbag. I only had to make very minor adjustments to bring it to zero and another 3/4" group. At 100 yards I was able to shoot 1 1/2' -2 1/2" groups right where i wanted them, again on a sandbag. I am very happy with my purchase and with myself for shooting like a kid again. This is a very nice upper that I would recommend. Thank you, PSA

Solid product
I've only assembled one of my 308 rifles so far. But it shot well, without any hiccups. Haven't tested for accuracy yet and only did a 50 yard zero. However, the holes were touching at that distance and that leads me to believe the rifle will be plenty accurate for my purposes.

Surpassed all Expectations
The PA10 Gen II upper surpassed all of my expectations. I married with the Gen II lower and the match form and fit was very good. I noticed zero defects or issues. I shot for the first time today (100 rounds) and I had zero malfunctions. I had very good groups at 100 yds with stock trigger and muzzle break. This is an excellent weapon for the cost.

It’s a shooter even on a self build lower
This review comes with much scrutiny.... I bought a trump stripped lower which I built with the psa lpk kit ..... I then bought this stainless upper after looking at the reviews... I was skeptical at first but gambled... this gun is awesome..... even after a self build it performs.. trigger is great and it looks tough s hell. Took it out today and it shot key holes on the paper....accurate and fun even with a pos tasco scope... the guns a shooter and worth the money. Most of the time it’s accurate to say you get what you pay for... but in this case I got more than what I paid for. Thanks psa
