BEST ANSWER: A 24" 6.5 creedmoor AR barrel would be AWSOME!
What is the difference between this and your seemingly similar item ending in 593?
Jeremy G on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Different rail system on the forearm
Is the bolt carrier group that this 6.5 creedmore upper comes with any different then the one that comes with your 308 upper?
ryan c on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Unless PSA has changed something YES. I bought a PA65 upper in December. I just confirmed it has a single extractor and a high pressure/ small diameter firing pin bolt. I have built several LR 308 type packages using their previous 308 bolts carriers. They have never varied from the original DPMS clone. The description and images for this new bolt show both dual ejectors and High pressure/ small diameter firing pin bolt.
Can PSA install a longer M-Lock rail at time of purchase? One longer then 15"?
Johnny on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That would make it difficult to adjust the (adjustable) gas block in the field, I would think.
Is your gen 2 6.5 Creedmoor upper compatible with a dpms gen 2 lower?
Norman G on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It's compatible with a DPMS Gen 1 lower though. Roughly 1/8" needs to be shaved off the top of the lower where the buffer tube screws in to the lower. The bolt catch latch used on most DPMS style lowers needs to be shaved a little as well on the surface that would otherwise be blocked by the upper receiver.
I noticed in some of the customer pics the casings were kind of smashed around the top and dinged up. Is that normal?

Will this set up work with a SR 25 lower?
ken m on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Unlikely... there is no milspec for .308AR's... so your best bet, would to be buying a PSA lower.

Will I have trouble using the Gen 2 lower that is labeled 308 on your 6.5 Creed Moor upper?
Bryan D on Jan 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, you will not have any issues. The gen 2 lower receiver is the same for both 308 and 6.5CM.
Can I use .308 or 7.62x51 ammo on this upper?
Maxum1750 on May 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, as stated in the description, this upper is barreled with a 6.5 barrel which is a .264 caliber diameter. The 7.62x51 is a .308 caliber diameter. There are other components only suitable for the 6.5 too.
What do I need to go with this to have a complete rifle ?
Jeff F on Dec 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: All you need and is easier to get buy an complete AR10 gen2 lower and will will pin right to your upper and be ready. Are you can build an whole lower yourself but faster,an easier and about the same money just buy an complete lower from PSA
I have a 308 win with a Gen 2 PA10lower . Rifle model #5165**9242. Can I put this 6.5 creedmoor Model # 5165**7615, upper on my existing lower?? any differences?? Magazine?? any issues??
Scott C on Nov 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It should work just fine on your Gen 2 Lower. You can use the same magazines that you are using for your .308. When you get the upper look closely for burrs in the the chamber, I have been fighting those issues since I got the upper. I think I have them finally worked out but will not know for sure until I get to the range this afternoon.
Will the psa 10 lowers work on this?
Matt on Oct 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I built a 80% AR10 lower for one of my 308 builds and used a PSA upper for the build. I went with 80% arms for the lower. I used cmmg lower parts kit (lpk) and everything worked flawlessly except for the top of the lower where the buffer tube is installed has to be shaved off probably from about .080 to .120 to allow the charging handle to be pulled to the rear and clear as it should work. The only problem is I still haven't painted that area back to a black color as of yet...
Was watching the YouTube video that is found on this page and he unboxes it and in the box there is a PMAG 20 and a lock. Is this still the case?
Usmon S on Aug 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I believe those items come with the purchase of the full rifle, which is a different product code or SKU than the upper. They just ship the upper and lower in separate boxes and include the mag and lock when the full rifle is ordered.
What's the difference between the 6.5 lower and the pa10 lower?
Eroom M on May 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The difference is name only. If the 6.5 creedmoor is to be dedicated to 6.5, then 6.5 lower is the choice. Later you could add a 308 upper like I did.
Is the rail flat or does it have any MOA?
James on Oct 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The rail is flat ( mine is ) it has an adjustable gas block, hope this helps!!Enter
Is the gas block pre adjusted at the factory or does it need to be adjusted after purchase?
Newt57 on Aug 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Needs to be adjusted, load one round in chamber insert empty mag, the bolt should lock back when you fire. Mine was open all the way, I screwed it all the way in, then opened one turn at a time until the bolt locked back.
Getting small dent in brass !
Hitting the nuckle on side when edjecting wondering if need to adjust gas block ?
Rob A on Dec 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Sounds like it's slightly over gassed if you have an adjustable block you can turn it down some. The shell should come out of the ejection port in the 1-to 3 o'clock attitude.
Will this fit a dpms lower reciever mill spec ?
Harry B on Dec 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It fits my DPMS LR308 Gen 1 lower. However there is no mil spec receiver for the AR10 platform so if you are talking about a mil spec 5.56 lower, it will not fit.

Tremendously accurate, BUT...........
Adjustable gas block is a cheap one, and mine arrived with a cracked set screw. Also, I believe that the rifle length gas tube that arrived with my upper is a DPMS style (just a tad too short for the upper) when it truly needs an armalite rifle length gas tube (I have one on order but haven't received it yet). I think that is the issue for why the rifle isn't ejecting the spent case, yet trying to load another cartridge at the same time. Oh, I forgot to mention that it doesn't eject sometimes. Other than those issues which I hope to figure out, the accuracy is outstanding. I have easily gotten 1" groups at 100 yds with Hornady black 140 grains, and have hit a 20" plate at 700 yds so far. Basically, just beware of possible mismatched parts, and cheap ones as well i.e. gas block, charging handle.

MOA accuracy. I run Hornaday ELD and get MOAs consistently.
I have ran it out to 500 yards so far. I match it with the PSA lower put Jp trigger springs in. SWFA SS 12x42 mil/mil scope. Its heavy but cannot beat the performance at this price. Better than many $1500+ set ups.

Awful, it has never function correctly from day one!
Awful, it has never function correctly from day one! I am waiting on a return authorization from PSA so I can return it so they can try to fix it. The spent case will not eject no matter how much or little I adjust the gas block! Hope they stand by their customers and address their needs quickly!

Lots of fun with the right ammo
Had high hopes for this upper. After break in I found it was kind of picky with ammo it liked. Hates the lighter bullets, even the expensive hornadys. Get 1 to 1.5 moa with American gunner and gmm. Likes the sig elite the best usually 1 moa or better. Ymmv. Adjustable gas block is a nice feature even though it is a cheap one. All in all a fun gun to shoot with the right ammo and a good value. Just wish they made a 24" barrel. Just a side note, I have the 308 upper and it is more accurate with more ammo but likes the heavier bullets.

Solid upper - accurate and reliable
Easily will deliver 1 MOA with the right ammo, and I'm working on tuning things even better. Very attractive build as well.
Note that it is Heavy, as that's the point for being a precision HBAR. But keep that in mind if weight matters. The adjustable gas black has a set-screw as well, to lock the gas adjustment screw in place, which works well (prior models apparently didn't have the set-screw, and so the adjustment screw I guess was walking around on people, but that's not an issue with current models). Reliability is very good, but be aware this is a 65,000 PSI spec cartridge, so the range of port-pressure between different ammo and handloads is quite large - so don't assume one setting on the gas-system will apply to all ammo, as it likely will need adjustment if going from a very mild to a very heavy load. If it's overgassed, it'll fail to extract and/or fail to eject correctly. If it's under-gassed, it'll cycle, but won't strip in the next round - or that's how the settings work for me. For me, it needs to be somewhere between 0.75 to 2 revolutions open, depending.

Another great shooter from PSA
Shoots tight groups right out of the box. Haven't stretched it out yet but hopefully it shoot as good as my 6.5 Ruger Precision. Very nice upper and cant beat the price.
