excellent
Amazing rifle for the price. Decent barrel (not too thin not too thick)... is chrome lined 1:7 twist carbine length gas proper* sized gas port under the FSP M4 feed ramps and they borrowed a little technology from the HK416- an extractor support pin inside of the chamber. Has the proper F stamped FSP.This rifle has a 7075-T6 Anchor-Harvey M4/A4 upper receiver ("M4" is stamped on the front of the upper receiver) with nice bright T marks. The lower 7075-T6 forged aluminum with a beveled magazine well and serations cut into the front of the mag-well for a supposed better grip. The ambidextrous magazine release is simple and genuis. The lower also has a built in tensioner to tighten up any wiggle between tbe upper and lower. This tensioner can be completely removed if desired. (Yes i completely disassembled this rifle to check all specs since Sig does not provide alot of the info like the barrel steel for instance unknown and they dont seem to know when you call Sigs customer service but most likely 4150/CMV/mil-spec steel whatever you want to call it. Is also most likely button rifled instead of CHF as I feel they would advertise such an upgrade). The BCG: the carrier is chrome lined phosphate coated with a very well staked gas key. The carrier is also 'semi-auto' profile which is fine for a carbine length gas system. The bolt itself is not marked HP or MP and Sig also does not seem to know what steel it's made out of (so strange) however it's given me absolutely no problems and eats any ammo out there (I've tried LOTS). The extractor has a black Oring black insert and a 5 coil spring. The fire control group is standard mil-spec nothing special. The buffer tube (receiver extension tube) is 7075-T6 and mil-spec diameter with a dry lube film inside. Comes with standard weight carbine buffer which is fine considering the gas port is the correct size so there won't be any over gassing causing the need for a heavier buffer although an H buffer never hurts. I fitted mine with a Troy Charlie Rail which has a carbine length FSP cutout and also free floats the bArrel. Sig now makes several variants of the M400 but this one the M400 'Enhanced' is what I'm reviewing. Comes with a Magpul stock handguards and P-grip. (All MOE variety). The rear BUIS that came on mine is a Sampson A2 flip up which alone retails for almost $90. The one you receive may be the Magpul MBUS as they seem to have exclusively switched to that. All in all for the price you really do get alot. I have about 5k rounds thru it and I've only had to replace the gas rings on the bolt. Hope this review helps. I did the investigation on lots of the specs since Sig won't or doesn't want to provide them to us. And overall this carbine is just excellent for the money. Is it a BCM? NO. Is it a PSA Premium or CHF? NO! Can Iit keep up with them? Absolutely! (In my opinion). Have a great day.

Excellent
I bought one of these when they first came out a gas impingement Sig I have put probably @ 4K rounds through it of every kind with no failures or malfunctions of any kind nothing. I think that says it all all the parts still look and work great.
