Got the pistol yesterday and shot it at the store. After become somewhat accustomed to the piece I had several Groups 3 to 5 shots with one ragged hole at 26 ft. Trigger is pretty good. Fits the hand nicely. Only 2 issues in the 70 rounds were 2 that failed to chamber. I believe the problem was the mags. It takes a Herculean effort to get in all but the last cartridge in. It appears the cases were deformed by all the force of the rim into the sidewall of the previous round. They say it gets better with time. Have been unable to get the last round into either mag a point I had heard on one of the youtube reviews. Really like this gun. The dealer told me the gun isn't broke in until at least 400 rounds and I will have ball doing it. The .40 S&W recoil is not terrible being more of a thump than a sharp crack. I like thumpers. Shot a Starfire 9mm for comparison and the .40 was much more comfortable. For $204 it can't be beat with Palmetto's low prices and the S&W Rebate. Shipping was just a few days.

Great CC weapon
I bought this weapon after researching the "experts" and they were right. Fits well in my hand even though I have large hands it doesn't have the typical finger hangover. Shot about 100 rounds at the range and had pretty decent grouping at 10 and 25 yards. Very light weight and concealable for sure. Inside the belt holster makes it disappear. I would highly recommend this weapon. Very accurate and the cleaning steps are simple. You won't regret this investment.

Very shootable in .40S&W
So I have a Shield .40 (among many others) - great gun! Sights are not tritium and retrofits are expensive IMHO. Recoil is more of a thump than a 9mm's snap - so very manageable. If you are concerned about the safety it is very positive and lo-profile so is a non-issue leave it in FIRE. I've shot the Glock 43 and those also are great guns but not available as a .40S&W.

I had been in the market for a concealed carry handgun for a while and had read numerous glowing reviews on the Shield Glock 43 XDS LC9 and others. My primary pistol is a USP .40 and I usually carry to protect my animals from coyotes and mountain lions so I was leaning toward a cc pistol in .40 caliber so the glock LC9 and XDS were out despite their excellent reviews. I bought the Shield .40 which also happened to be quite a bit cheaper than the glock and the XDS and ran to the range to see if I had made a mistake in picking the .40 over the 9 and I can say without any hesitation that the Shield .40 is a wonderful gun shoots very well and handles the .40 no problem. I also bought a Pearce grip extender which gives me a full grip on the pistol with the 6rd mag and helps with control. I didn't feel like the muzzle rise was significant at all and am very happy with my choice.
