Features
The model 70 has set the standard for bolt action rifles since its introduction in 1936. It continues to feature the renowned 3-position safety, designed for easy operation with the thumb of your firing hand, lifting the firing pin away from the sear for added safety. Crafted from a solid block of forged steel, the receiver boasts a flat bottom profile that provides ample surface area for optimal bedding. It's securely bedded with a two-part epoxy at the front and rear, ensuring stability during firing. The classic controlled round feed (CRF) bolt design includes a robust claw extractor that firmly engages about one-quarter of the cartridge base, maintaining complete control from magazine to chamber and ensuring reliable extraction even if the cartridge isn't fully chambered. The MOA trigger system sets the industry standard for precision with its 3-lever design, offering improved fit and finish for enhanced accuracy. A blade-type ejector provides controlled ejection of fired cases. The free-floating barrel undergoes a button rifling process to guarantee superior accuracy and durability. This Featherweight model features a satin walnut stock with feather cut checkering and a polished metal finish. As a special QDMA 30th Anniversary edition, it includes light engraving and gold inlay on the QDMA floorplate, adding a touch of distinction to this legendary rifle.
