2022 The Gathering Photo/Product Discussion

The Entire Booth?

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

probably, once you buy one it never stops…

Truth.

M-240 looks like an M-60. - .30cal?

308

I think they just used to round it down for simplification and called it a .30 caliber machine gun. I never fired one. Fired four turret mounted .50s and the 20mm during my time as B-52 D, G and H gunner. The
20mm (M-61A Vulcan) would increase our airspeed by 3knts. Impressive considering the B-52 weighed over 400,000 lbs fully loaded and fueled.

Thanks to the Gathering i am in the market for this RIA tac 10mm…now just to find it in stock.

I’ve been eyeing that pistol for months. Saturday was the first time I’ve gotten to shoot one. It’s recoil was a pussycat compare to what I was expecting. Subcompact 9mm is more of a handful than that 10mm. I fell in love. Also, they make one with a 6" barrel but I’m unsure if it’s threaded.

Its not. But i already have a .45 can so i need the threaded barrel.:wink:

The ASR was my favorite rifle system.
The RIA TAC-TX 10MM was my favorite pistol.
The suppressed 308 bolt action was my favorite suppressed firearm as it was stupid quiet and I want one for still hunting.
The clip on thermal was awesome but, at $12K, it’s out of my price range. Was that you running the camera at the night shoot?

No, we werent at the night shoot.

I took a picture of the beltfed ammo they were using on the m240. Looks like genuine surplus. Crimped primer pockets.

I got to play some more with the Sig $3,000 thermal sight. More like a 1x red dot than the other thermal scopes. It’s amazing how far technology has come, and the price has really fallen. I took a few pictures looking thru the sight. The only strange thing, even tho it’s approximately 1x zoom you still have to focus for different ranges.

We went on Saturday. We attended last year and this event was much better.
Best gun to shoot? The 240 with Rugged Suppressors and the RPK. Many thanks to PSA for the chance to try it. Now I just have to find one for myself.

I shot the RIA 10mm too. Was expecting a “hand cannon” with a bunch of recoil, but it was really smooth and accurate.

Agreed. That pistol was downright pleasant to shoot. Nearly the equivalent of a 357 mag energy dump but it was just a soft-med push of recoil without much snap. To me, a S&W Shield with 115 gr ammo felt/feels more snappy.

Heavier the gun, the less ‘felt’ recoil.

Are there dates set for Gathering in 2023?

So umm yeah, this “Gathering” is a thing? Is it open to the public, worth the drive from Ohio? Details man, I need details.

It is open to the public. I went one day last year and it was awesome. You get to see, handle and shoot a wide variety of guns from a lot of different manufactures and they supply the ammo.

Did every thing from the 5.7 to the Barret mile challenge. Will be going again this year.
