Anyone know if there will be any meme lowers for Christmas 2023?
The latest talk has been the 15yr anniversary lower. Thanksgiving and Christmas was talked about but i havent heard from Brickwerks that a variance was submitted.

back in september and even through early october i was trying to get the meme lowers back in action with both thanksgiving and christmas lowers, but nothing really took root, as the thread on arfcom didnt get much traction with it. Even with Brickworx’s work that did some basic drafts.
thats not to say that we wont develope any more, we just have to be careful right now with the political climate.

Not doing something in fear of others reactions is exactly what creates a “political climate”. You have let them create a political climate for YOU and you have bowed to them now.

I see, well maybe we can come up with something that isnt polarizing but still entertaining for everyone. Many of the lowers were not political in nature and were super cool, i wish i had gotten my hands on several of them before they were gone for good but alas, i was late to the party /sadpandaface

Bow to nobody is easy to say until you have to waste millions of dollars, time, and energy fighting a court case.
Who fought a court case over a meme lower?
Nascar sued lots of folks over the “Lets Go Brandon” stuff. Not PSA thankfully. DD, SOLGW, and Magpul have all been sued for using memes.
PSA also had to stop selling the grumpy cat meme online and sell instore only.
Anyone with some cash can cause huge damage via a lawsuit, whether frivolous or not. Time is money.

It’s fine, my opinion is just that and we wont agree.
PSA is free to not manufacture something to avoid offending a person. I’m free to slam that thinking process.
You had no issues when you were buying them up like hotcakes. Now they are gone and you defend/agree PSA should not make more?
You have sold them yourself, if one shows up in a crime should we sue you? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
If the meme offends someone, should you be sued? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Should you never sell another meme lower out of fear of a lawsuit? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Neither should PSA.
(Disclaimer… I know lawyers won’t sue you. They’ll follow the money and go up the chain to PSA.

Yes, i have sold some i decided not to build. It wasnt an issue several years ago when these started. But @GamecockOperator can tell you the story of the phone call he received from LEO concerning a gun he sold. Sadly it was used to take a human life.
As for us individuals, like you said we are small bait. PSA is far from small bait though. On that we agree.

remember my use of we is a royal use. i do not work for psa… and as such have no voice in their planning or producing things or not producing things. I speak on ly from a voice of experience because i had some minimal input in the meme thread on arfcom to PSA in developing the different meme lowers. And just because i said they have to be careful in the political climate, does not mean that they wont produce lowers. It simply means they are being careful, of the political climate. Every lower has to be submitted to the ATF for approval, and while we’ve not had any issue getting them approved in the past, things at the atf may have changed and the tounge and cheek effort that the memes were originally approved with may not be there now sadly. Dont worry i dont think this is the end of the meme lowers, I just think we as a group of consumers need to assist psa and figure out some really good memes, that would not draw attention nationally. Look the last thing anyone wants is someone to be flying off their rocker with a meme psa rifle (or any psa rifle, or any rifle or gun at all actually) and going off on a mass shooting or anything else. imagine if it were a anti-whatever meme lower and it was used to attack that specific meme group target? it could be bad juju

I certainly don’t want to see any nut go out and do bad things with PSA or any other brand hardware for that matter either, but the fact does remain, these are trying times. When growing up we were told threats would come from outside, well, the call is coming from inside the house and we now have a digital environment targeting vulnerable individuals and encouraging mental illness to flourish 24/7. It’s incredible how quickly things have gone down hill, incredible… no, i should say freaking alarming. I agree though, this is a delicate time politically, whether we like it or not. There is one thing I would like to see from PSA, a lower receiver but with the one piece trigger guard, and clear anodized; and have a matching upper and some handguards available. The clear anodized stuff has a neat look to it. Maybe make it a Gingerbread theme for christmas lol

That could potentially hurt someones feelings.
If I were to buy a lower and take it to an engraver, would I have to get ATF approval first? I’m not being argumentative, I genuinely don’t know. If the answer is no, perhaps that is an option for some to do what they want.
