A little question about the AK47 GF3 and Sighting

Alright everyone, I need some help. Perhaps I’m stupid but we will see.

I took my AK47 GF3 to the range today to sight in a new Votex 3X (I think the spitfire?) scope. As usual when doing this, I go to the 25 yard range to get my horizontal spread lined up, then I work on my vertical axis.

When I was finished sighting in on the 25 yard range, my groups were centerline and two inches abobe where I was aiming. Then I went to the 50 yard range, and to my surprise, my groups were 8 or 9 inches above where I was aiming (no adjustments made, nothing bumped, same Tula ammunition, same weather, same sandbags for stabilization, etc).

This isn’t a huge deal as I am going to shoot 200 yard the next time I go, and I believe the 7.62x39 round drops 7 inches at 150 yards, so I should be on point or slightly above my point of aim. I’m just wondering how this may happened or if it has something to do with my scope or the design of the GF3. Maybe it’s user error.

I use these targets when sighting in a red dot. Scroll down to the ak47 one and use it.

Rob Ski is a stud. I had totally forgotten about this video. Very interesting as he shows that the 7.62x39 does rise quite significantly between 25 yards and 100 yards before dropping back down.

Good video. I managed to get my GF3 and 103 dialed in pretty good with minimal effort.

While I personally have not tried one I don’t see why they wouldn’t work. I think it actually looks pretty good. :sunglasses:
