Just purchased 124gr AAC 9mm 10 boxes, needed ammo - was waiting for a free shipping deal, but couldn’t wait longer… maybe next time
What do you guys prefer when shooting? 115gr, 124gr, or 147gr?

147gr with my suppressor. Ive shot the 115 and 124 but moving to all 147.
Haven’t shot 147gr, what is the main reason you shoot it?
The main two reasons I like 147gr are:
I’m sure there are probably more reasons…
I might have to give 147gr a try. I like 124gr for the flatter shooting. If my logic serves me correct, 147gr would shoot even flatter?
I primarily run JHP for EDC, but would 147gr FMJ be a good substitute because of its lower velocity?
115gr and 124gr shoot “flatter” than 147 gr – heavier bullets go slower and need more arc to hit something farther away. As for your EDC, better stick with your self-defense round that is JHP as that is its best intended purpose.
115 and 124gr is more of a training round so you don’t shoot all your hard-earned $$ away. 147gr is a little more expensive – my personal purpose is for a PCC (pistol caliber carbine). Others may use 147 with handguns or PCCs that have trouble feeding smaller bullets.
Hope that helps a little - if I’ve forgotten anything I’m sure someone will fill us in! Keep on reading on the subject…
Yeah, I’m slightly familiar with JHP vs FMJ uses - but I do appreciate the advice.
Regarding the grain amount for bullets, and I definitely thought differently for 147gr. I may buy a box just to see how it goes. When I compared 115gr vs 124gr, it made my Glock/SIG and Canik feel more solid and operation felt smoother.
Thank you!
Weird question? Did some of the aac 9mm get replaced or was it taken off ![]()
It does seem sparser than it used to be - the listings for boxes of 50 are gone, but there might be more.
Some jag offers are gone as well
I may be wrong but I think the jag brass was temporary iirc ![]()
I still have one unopened box of 50. Does that mean it’s a collectors item? I’ m gonna be rich! Quittin’ my job! Buying me my own island! I’m set for life!
Uhm no ![]()

Nuh-uh! I’m right! I have proof! Have you seen what people are selling factory sealed empty coca-cola cans for? I can do that too! I is smart!
I’d shot through several hundred rounds of AAC 300 blk over the past year or so and found it be great ammo for a good price. Plus I don’t have to decrimp any primer pockets to reload them.
Anyways, because of my success with the 300blk, I bought a few hundred rounds of 9mm a few months back and finally shot some of it today. Man, the 9mm is externally filthy. Like lead and powder impressions on each cardboard card separating the layers of cartridges, all over the brass and projectiles themselves, etc. By the time I got done loading 5 mags, any finger and both thumbs that had been touching the rounds were pitch black. Dirtiest unfired brass cased ammo I’ve ever handled. Shot like a champ, no issues there, but it was unfortunate that its so dirty. Is this the normal experience with the 9mm offering?

Just pulled a random one out of a bag. Doesn’t look too dirty to me. JAG headstamp one. I had to look.
I didn’t get any in a bag ![]()
Big box.
I too find the 9mm to be filthy, so much so that I don’t bother shooting it.
I’m inclined to think the packing may be part of the problem ![]()
I’ll shoot them for ya. But send your guns with the ammo.
I don’t want to put too much wear and tear on my high end PSA products.
