About the AK-47 / AK-74 category

Just look inside the bottom of the grip. Should be a flat head screwdriver to tighten it up. No biggie.

Hi there I have a question about the AK GF3 Triangle folding stock.

I saw that there were two holes at the butt end of the stock and I was wondering if you guys knew of any compatible buttpads such as the Magpul buttpads or Limbsavers that will mount to it directly?

Any information is appreciated!

This is the AK in queston:

Anyone have experience with the soviet arms railed gas tube, and if it holds zero?

Does anybody know a range of model numbers or dates of production for the PSAK74 ā€œClassicā€ models that may have been included in the batch that were out of Spec? Seems PSA is accutely aware of the issues, but for some reason did not issue a recall. PSA might want to be careful about letting their customers be used as ā€œBeta Testersā€ for their firearms… I agree with PSA philosophy of getting as many firearms out to the public as possible (to get them into ā€œcommon useā€ category), but it must be a fine-line they are walking (pushing numbers of products out vs possible quality-control delays).

Hey Guys,

I need some help. In less than 60 rounds my extractor broke. Is it worth the wait for PSA to fix it or should i buy the kit and replace it myself? Also, i was trying to pull back on the charging handle and it was getting caught up on the hammer. Are these two issues related or are they separate? I had to manually reset my trigger in order to get the rifle to fire again.

PSA Ak556 question-does the base model with a fixed stock come with the modular rear tang?

Hello. I am interested in knowing if anyone has some higher mileage on a PSAK-74 with the tool craft parts? How does it function? Round count? Praises or Complaints?

I have a question about my gas tube. I bought an PSAK-47 GF5-E MOEKOV RIFLE WITH SOVIET ARMS 13.5" RAIL AND GAS TUBE along with that I bought a Midwest Industries Alpha combo (10 inch handguard and dust cover). I knew I would have to install a standard gas tube so I bought the PSA AK47 GAS TUBE ASSEMBLY for 29 bucks. While trying to install this on the GF5-E it would not install. It seemed to long and I couldn’t get it to pop in. I took a grinder to it and finally got it to drop in. My question is … is this ok or should I’ve bought a different gas tube? I have not shot it since installing the gas tube and the Midwest industries Alpha series HG. This is my first AK and rifle with a gas tube so I’m learning as I go. Thank you

Hello all. I am new to this site and I’m not even sure my question will go through but here goes, I am interested in a PSAK I’m looking for Gf4 or gf5 but I do not know the real differences between the two. Any knowledge on this subject is much appreciated.

I have a PSA AK 47 in 7.62x39 GF5. Reloading data references bullet diameter from .308 up to .312, How do I know what diameter my barrel is?

Check the pinned thread at the top of the AK section

The proper solution would have been to beat it into place. It doesn’t really pop in. You just have to slam it in. I suspect you didn’t have the take down lever in the correct position going back on…But I award points for going to the grinder, bold move. That said, the gas tube is a non critical component. You can 100% safely fire the rifle without a gas tube. So nothing bad is going to happen. Pretty common to have to do some Dremel work to make some parts fit (not this one though).

Also…all AKs have a gas tube? Not sure what else you could be talking about.

The gas tube on mine is tough to remove and put back in. I generally get the lock aligned first, smear grease on it and the rear surfaces of the tube, get it started and aligned, then rap it in place with my palm. With the grease I usually can lock it down with my thumb.

Saw a video by Kentucky Ballistics where a massively overpressure round was fired in an Arsenal AK. The brass case ruptured (to be expected) and gas caused some damage, but the action held. Wonder if the other manufacturers would hold also.

I have a Soviet Arms AK. I finally took it apart to clean. Everything was ok until I went to put the gas tube back in. With the lock handle at the 10 o’clock position, and the lock face vertical, the gas tube slides in easily. However, I can’t get the handle to rotate counter clockwise- at all- to lock the tube in place. I tried your method, but it doesn’t budge. There doesn’t seem to be enough room between the lock face and the gas tube to allow any movement. Thoughts?

You can actually use the bolt carrier to lock the gas tube lever. One of the slots is sized specifically for the tab on the lock arm. Just engage the two and use the bolt carrier to rotate the lock.

Question for All - for Optic & Mount for the **Riley Defense 7.62x39mm AK Rifle with 16" Barrel, MFT Minimalist Stock Stock, Black -RAK47TMFT. **

I had a scope ordered last year (i purchased this AK Riley a year ago) but it wasn’t the proper one based on this design so I apparently need to order a Side mount picanny rail and Red Dot Optic.
Any suggestions on Side Mount Rails for this Riley Defense would be helpful - thank. maybe the Vortex Strikefire ?
