I only got one question: when are we AK 74s going to be available? I have a spot in my safe for one…

Got my GF5 a couple days ago. New to the AK world so not sure if my question is silly or not. The notch on the flash hider when lined up with the pin is off by about 5°. Is this a big deal, or can I just put some loctite on the threads and turn it so the cut on the flash hider is level?

It is designed that way. It is canted for a reason. During full auto or rapid firing it helps mitigate muzzle rise and is also designed to vent gas unevenly upwards. During regular semi fire the canted 22 degrees really doesn’t do anything.
Personally I wouldn’t loctite it to the barrel. You could take a file or dremmel tool and cut another notch in the flash hider to straighten it if it really bothers you.

Hey, any advice on buying an ā€œentry levelā€ AK? Wish I would have bought one years ago, but here I am. I see a few different brands selling for around the $800 mark.

Look at as many different models of AKs before buying yours. There are so many different models that you don’t want to have ā€œbuyers remorseā€ second guessing yourself……wishing you had bought a different model. Take your time….look at a lot of pictures and videos….and listen to people’s comments on the different models. Today we are blessed to have a great selection of different models of AKs…from a great variety of manufacturers.
Caution:….don’t buy CHEAP… you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a good AK. If you buy a good one….and sell it years from now…you won’t loose any money. If you buy cheap….you will never get what you paid for it later if you decide to sell it.

Can anyone tell me when the 74 my wife sent back for repair will ever come back? Going on 2 1/2 months and have got no info or replies to emails. Had light primer strikes, failure to feed, failure to eject, failure to manually eject unless you mortared it, locking lugs wouldn’t let loose! I am starting to think they threw it in trash and forgot about me!

It took almost 3 months to get mine back from repair. Yours should be nearly done at this point.

Thanks for info, I hope your right. Did it run when you got it back?

Yeah, in fact I never had an operating issue with mine. I broke the the gas tube retaining lever (be careful with them, they’re quite thin, idk why PSA makes em this way) when trying to install an aftermarket hand guard. I sent it in to have that replaced and they also replaced the barrel and bolt. The new barrel, along with the ALG trigger I put it makes it MOA! I almost couldn’t believe I was getting such tight groups with 5.45x39. It took some time and I called multiple times looking for updates til one of the engineers on the FB group reached out to me. The wait will be worth it man.

did you ever get yours back? Or any new info on it?

I recently purchased a PSAK 47. I just got it home and started doing a complete filed strip. The gas tube lever just wont lock back. I’ve tried everything and at this point I’m afraid I’ll brake it or bend it. Any help? also I cant post a review nor a question on their store site so that’s also an issue

Whenever there is a conundrum with the AK……I always consult the ā€œJediā€ of AKs. If you are not aware of his YouTube channel, Rob-Ski has a vast database covering almost everything AK.

Below is AK-47 User Guide part 1. Early in the video (at 5 min mark) he covers open the gas tube ā€œleverā€ and how to use the bolt for more leverage if the lever is stubborn.
Hope this helps.

The one question i wanted to know and have contact customer service about it but its been a while and no answer?lol so here i am. The package you guys have ,with the rifle, bag and 10 -30rd mags i just love! But and theres always one of those hehe But i live in a restrictive state and we can only have 10rd mags. My local FFL dealer claims ot be a lvl7 or lvl8 FFL dealer and says they can receive anything i buy that they then, can make state compliant before releasing it to me. Will PSA mail one of these packages to my local FFL dealer and allow them to make the mags compliant? Or can you guys switch them out for 10-10rd mags rather then the 30s?

I purchased a furniture kit from PSA for my AK-47 GF3. I’m in the process of installing it but there are not instructions or parts list. I can figure out what the following piece from the kit is for. Any suggestions.

Sorry, I meant to say, ā€˜I can’t figure out where this part goes’.

IF…your top hand guard is loose….and it shifts a little back n forth or a little up n down…. This spring will correct that little annoying movement.

IF however your handguard is secure without any movement…you don’t need this spring.

But ! ! Hold on to it. If you change the handguard…. It may have that very slight movement and then you will have the spring to tighten her up.

My concern is that the grip (wooden) is already SLIGHTLY wobbly as i pick it up right out of the box. surely this can’t be normal? I’m super worried this is just going to get looser and worse once i start shooting it. Please advise… pretty concerned about that. I can’t reach out to customer service via chat about this apparently.
