Anyone Convert a PSA Sabre to Gas Piston?

I’ve got a spare Adams Arms short-stroke gas piston kit and I’m considering installing it to create a poverty HK 416.

Anyone ever try this? Should I get a Superlative Arms kit instead?

Nah, and I wouldn’t.

I have a few piston AR’s and since the SABRE has the Rifle Speed gas block it basically takes away any benefit of the gas piston.

Also, I used to believe the piston would run cleaner and that’s not really the case. The AR platform with either system is gonna dirty at nearly the same rate in my experience.

IDK. Personally i’d probably leave the Sabre alone, and put it in a different PSA that I built from the ground up, with a specific focus. then once i built that rifle up to my standards of what i wanted the rifle to be, I’d go and tae itout as well as the sabre, and do a head to head shootout between them both. see which rifle is the better rifle. but thats just me… for fun of course.

This sounds like the more solid plan.

thanks.. dont get me wrong, i love the sabre line, but if i am building a rifle from the ground up.. itll be at least as good as, if not better than a sabre, daniel, larue, LMT, whatever.. cause i built it for me.. to my standards, with what i wanted on it for what i want to use it for.
