I know there are quite a few after market drop-in triggers. I’m leaning towards CMC for my PSA/Aero 11.5” 5.56 pistol. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I dont use drop ins, but all my Rifles have geissele triggers. The best hands down.
I use Franklin Armory’s binary triggers in mine…contest #728
Welcome @rgoff. I have a CMC curved bow 3.5lb in one of my PSA lowers and love it!!
I’ve installed the CMC flat triggers in 2 of my AR’s. I like them. Very nice triggers for the $$. Light, crisp & very short reset, you won’t be disappointed!
There are tons of great triggers that have come out in the past few years… it’s hard to point to just one, honestly. I have no experience with CMC, but do with the below:
LaRue makes an awesome 80 dollar single or two stage, in the case you want something close to, but much less expensive than, a geissele.
My Velocity 3.5lb single stage has been a great, middle-priced trigger. Zero take up, and a clean, glass-like break.
Anything TriggerTech is worth more than the price, in my experience. Hands-down my favorite triggers.
Aside from the LaRues, PSA EPT triggers are great, inexpensive mil-spec replacements.
And, as GuitarGuy said, Geissele is top of the game in most aspects of a trigger, if you don’t mind a non-drop-in. You pay for the performance with this brand, though.
Anyone have any experience with the “PSA custom AR 3.5 lbs. Match Grade Single-Stage Drop-In Trigger, Flat - 116055”? I’m a cheapskate and considering this or the curved version.
Honestly the PSA triggers are decent and you save money. I sell CMCs and they’re nice for an upgrade but if you’re into saving I’d say go for them. They’re in two SBRs I have. Otherwise Geissele two stage.
I might go psa 3.5.
Definitely Geissele SSA E, IT WILL ELEVATE your shooting skill from whatever your skill is now. Who ever said that $ $ can’t make you a better shooter……never bought a Geissele. My KS-47 was transformed from hitting the 10” at 100 meters(10.5 inch barrel)……to inside of 2” groups……with the cheapest surplus ammo. It inspires confidence….knowing you can reach out and put a round exactly where you mean it to impact.
Probably wayyy too late lol but i have the psa 3.5 curved and got to test it a couple days ago finally. Dont have a lot of experience but its def a decent upgrade from the milspec or their ept. Feels good. Never used a geissele but have been recommeneded by way too many people to not check out. Probably try it next.
Since the dead thread is alive again, I’ll leave my 2 cents here.
Drop-in I like to use KE SL-1. Feels good and can engage safety when hammer is forward. Otherwise, I’ll grab up geissele when I see one on sale.
I have CMC triggers in all my ARs, from S&W M&P 15-22 to AR-10. Most are flat single stage, but I have one with a curved 2-stage. All have a crisp break with virtually no creep. Easy to install and work flawlessly. I just completed my first build - a 300 BLK pistol using PSA complete upper, PSA lower build kit and PSA “blemished” lower (like many, I could find nothing that I would consider a blemish). My only added part was the CMC trigger. Can’t wait to get it to the range!
What are you wanting to do with it? The CMC is really light. I wouldnt want that in a day to day shooter. Perfect for a precision rifle though
Precision.
I like the PSA one and use it a lot but the CMC showed up in this mornings email for the same cost.
Looks like it’s maybe a pound lighter.
That is a damned good price on the CMC, best I could find anywhere else was $150.
I think you have your answer.
