Have you cleaned the chamber really good with a scrub/brush?
Another video with multiple rounds. Same pmag.
I have but will scrub again.
Seems to me the gun is functioning but the brass is sticking in the chamber.
The brass is extracting and getting knocked back into the receiver by the rear of the ejector port.
To me it looks over gassed or sticking ejectors. Soak the bolt head in solvent (kerosene, mineral spirits, paint thinner) and work the ejectors using a spent piece of brass. This will loosen any heavy oil or dirt trapped in the ejector cavity. Take down and clean the extractor. These parts do not need lubrication. Then start with the gas port regulation.
This is my neighbor’s gen 1 PA10 308. Same issues as above to include stovepipping. He bought it new and this started after 500 rnds.
Non adjustable gas block.
10 and 20 rnd pmags and it never liked the 10.
Got the rifle to my bench, removed the bolt from the carrier to soak. Removed the gas block/tube to inspect and found no major obstruction, but it needed a good cleaning.
The bolt: blew it off and l noticed the ejector was still sticky. I also used a spent casing to work the ejector, spray CLP and compressed air do it again. The fouling was breaking free!
After satisfied l used just a little of powder graphite at the ejector (dry bolt) and worked the casing some more. Blew it off again reassembled the rifle.
It ran flawless! I followed @GuitarGuy lead on the magazine trick and now it will faithfully run the 10 rnd mags! Thanx DrJ!
Thank you all. Gonna get to work on it and report back.
Please do.
Afternoon all,
Tried the above mentioned methods including gas regulation, with no luck. Then tried to reposition the adjustable gas block. I also tried the flat wire AR10 spring and Odin adjustable buffer. Next step is new extractor. Will a Wilson combat extractor upgrade kit AR10 fit?
Thanks
Watching. I would like to know if the Wison extractor works too!
