Alabama has nothing to offer anyone but trees, clean air and dirt roads to drive and think.
Go away snow birds. South Carolina is open.

From what I see on the map AL has tons of beautiful lakefront property should said snowbirds be of the waterfowl variety. All on the cheap from what I hear. 
Maybe, like political refugees from abroad, we can issue them a temporary visa/green card until they can pass a civics test…
Lake Martin is filled up with them. I’ve nothing against snow birds. I’m sure they’re lovely people. Just wished they would go back to their “amazing” state.
We get them here too. Not as much here in the Upstate but over by the coast…
I’m starting to see why my ancestors kept to themselves.
Not very approachable. Yet in their circle they were very nice and hospitable. They loved people just didn’t trust the devil inside.

In my little corner of the upstate it is not so much snowbirds as it is “damn yankees” (the ones who come to visit and end up staying). Their contributions to the area include driving up real estate prices, increasing property taxes and trying to implement laws and regulations that worked so much better " where they came from".
I’m a damn yankee. Been here over 20 years. Nothing blue where I came from except for Jack Murtha. If he were still alive and in office he would be a mirror of Joe Manchin.
I see Texas plates and I’m like yeah they probably got family here.
I see Jawja plates and I’m like yeah they probably got family here.
I see Mississippi plates and I’m like yeah they probably got family here.
I see New York or Massachusetts plates and I’m like why are they here? What are they running from? Oh yeah, political refugees
I had this thought the last time this subject came up and you were complaining about outsiders. I think youd agree and get a kick out of it.
I was thinking “Southerners are very polite and hospitable to visitors. Why? Because by definition visitors are there to visit and eventually leave. Southerners love them. But once they know you might plan to stay… All the hospitality goes out the window”
Good morning everyone. I dont mind visitors every once and awhile. I dont care for those who plan to stay permanently. I like my peace and quiet. Go back to where you came from!

IMO-Any out of state plates that are not regional are suspected political refugees
