Did an Irish Whiskey night. @Simple_Man came with me. It’s a good way to sample without having to buy a whole bottle.

The connamera was my least favorite. It’s smoke infused (over burning peat). It’s aroma was like chloraseptic, and my lips went numb. It was advertised as a “hug in a glass”. Not what i would classify it as.

The Redbreast was my favorite…i had quite a bit of that, but not enough that i cant type.

I have tried a couple of good Bourbons in the last two weeks. Old Forester 1920 and Daviees County Kentucky straight.
The Old Forester is very surprisingly smooth at 115 proof.
I’m a cheap bourbon guy though. My go to is Benchmark 8. Made by Buffalo Trace and about $19.00 for a handle.
I actually prefer rum to bourbon, but my go to is always a good beer (not bud, miller, etc.)
Yea I have an affection for high gravity beer. Imperial IPA’s etc. I got into bourbon a little bit to try and shave calories. It ain’t working.
Not a fan of IPAs. Dont mind a good high gravity though, just dont drink many of them.

I like whiskey, Love Highland (non-peaty) scotch (most anything from The Macallan), and also love dark rums. The occasional Arto Fuente Hemingway lone cigar is also appreciated.
They are all in my neighborhood in Lexington. That way we can walk home.
I’ll do one in Nevada in my neighborhood. If I start it at 7 AM, no one will be home… It’ll be nice and peaceful!
