IMO-So it seems the US gathered information from the Chinese balloon. “They” (US Intelligence Community) knew from the beginning about the path of the balloon. I bet they got information right down to the terminal this balloon was sent and who sent it. “They” got a lot more information from the Chinese balloon than what China got.
I’m not sure if that is true. But of course they will say that. They might not have any idea all the info that China got or didnt get.
Odds are the ChiComs got a lot more than will ever be admitted. Just another epic fail by FJB and his minions.

Wouldn’t the provider know what is going on?
Wouldn’t the IC (Intelligence Community) have this?
The Chi Coms took a look at some sensitive areas that they couldn’t get on Google Maps and what if the IC was in overwatch seeing all this play out?
What if the IC let all this unfold just to see a reaction?
From what I have read about it the Chinese were using US Internet providers to send encrypted data/messages back to themselves via the internet. IF the US has the ability to decrypt the transmission it would be an Intel bonus. Other than that I guess the ISP’s could track where the info was being sent to. What other Intel assets were onboard the balloon I have no idea. I would guess cameras, ground penetrating radar and communication intercept equipment. Maybe one day “they” will let us know.
IMO-They can rot in those trenches.
