I’ve got a Complete Classic Stealth Lower. I’m looking for something in 5.56, that’ll accept most non-expensive mags (surplus or commercial), and has range to it. I’ve only got a .22 and a shotgun for longarms, so I want something with some distance. I’d prefer something with M-LOK or Picatinny so that optics and other attachments won’t be difficult. I’d like for it to be PSA, BLEM or no, since its cheap.
Should’ve added that I’m looking for a complete upper, but thank you
Complete upper with sights.

Welcome to the club @Z2023 ! The Daily Deal Support Group will hopefully be the next forum channel you need. My preference is for light weight and @GuitarGuy 's link to the complete upper has the heavier barrel profile. Consider the pencil barrel equivalent below. You’ll have less weight out front with no realistic negatives other than $10 greater cost. There are also options without sights, but if it’s your first foray into the world of AR, sights seem like a good add-on. You can always replace/remove/upgrade them later, of course.
I concur with GuitarGuy’s recommendation. I have that upper. I also concur with your desire to purchase a complete upper. I have found that you don’t really save anything by buying an upper without a BCG, charging handle or sights. I’ve done it, but it can take awhile to find the parts at the right price point. Iron sights are necessary if you don’t plan to put a red dot sight on the upper, but if you do, they are recommended for backup and permit you to use the rifle before you buy a red dot.
Do you guys think this one will work for me? If it saves a 100 or 200 and some weight, I’m fine without the full MLOK or picatinny shroud around the barrel https://palmettostatearmory.com/blem-psa-16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-moe-upper-with-bcg-ch-mbus-rear-flat-dark-earth.html
Thats a great upper.
So it’ll fit to my complete lower out of the box and shoot with no problems?
Yep. What you are essentially doing is assembling an ar15. Building is taking stripped recievers and a parts kit and actually building it. There is nothing wrong with either way. With building you may have to worry about some parts compatability (if choosing a different caliber for example), but with assembling you dont because you know everything on that upper is gtg.
Definitely a great choice. Save some cash for more ammo, optics, and all the other fun bits to come.
@GuitarGuy @BradE @Pluff_Mud @rollinthankful
Thank you guys, I went ahead and got that BLEM 16" MOE upper. Just gotta save up like Brad said.
Since you mentioned “reach out a little” I may or may not have a couple of these.

I have that same upper. The rear sight normally comes in the retail package in the box with the upper, so you will need to install it. and then just put the upper and lower together - two pins - take down and pivot…
I see the color for the MOE hand guard is FDE. Is your stock and grip the same color? They don’t have to be, but my preference is for them to be the same color.
My first purchase was a complete upper and complete lower. Since then, I have purchased a stripped lower and parts kit to assemble a lower. I did it for the experience. Again, costwise, I don’t think you save anything doing that, and you may need to buy some special tools. However, you gain a better understanding of how the gun operates.
Hey guys, it just got in. I noticed a small wiggle between the upper and lower, but not very much, and a very small space between them. I’m not expecting tight tolerances from an under $500 AR, but is this OK? Given its my first PSA purchase and my first AR, I don’t know what to expect from it
Pics?
One man’s basement is another’s ceiling.
Along the area between the lower and upper, you can see a little sliver of light and what’s on the other side
That is perfectly normal on any AR that isnt a machined matched pair. It wont affect anything. If it drives you nuts you can see if your lower has room for a tensioning screw under the grip or you can get an accu wedge.
Thanks, that’s what I was thinking, but just wanted to make sure. My cheap Taurus has the same thing.
Looks normal to me. As far as the “wiggle” that’s hard to quantify there’s a lot of pieces in the mix and tolerance stack can take it from one end of the spectrum to the other. Looks fine to me though. You can get the same thing on a more expensive platform.
