Can MOLLE work on an EDC belt?

Trying to determine the best setup to get started.
Recently finished my AR and also acquired a new Glock 17. Got a sling on the rifle and good holster for the Glock. Running a Kore Essentials Tacitcal gun belt (non battle belt). Wondering if i can get a some MOLLE pouches for AR magazines and run from my belt, along with some kind of EDC Glock mag pouches for now, then have the option to move to a chest rig later?

Molle mag pouches will certainly fit on most belts. The AR and pistol pouches shown below will fit on a belt up to a little over 2.5" by threading the retainer strip under the lower elastic strip and then snapping the retainer strip in place.

I have a 2-mag pouch on my EDC belt. The pouch is LAPG, belt is Kore. It does work. My pouch has a mess of hook on the back, so I cut strips of cheap loop to cover it so it doesn’t snag stuff. The pros-it isn’t on terribly snug, so I can move it a bit between belt loops. The cons-it isn’t terribly snug, so it can shift if I bump a wall or something (and I do). I have ways of reducing that if needed.

My idea is to get the AR pouches as inexpensive MOLLE, then throw on the belt for now, but have the option to attach to a rig later. The pistol pouches will be more robust and used for when i carry the Glock, primarily on weekends. My work setup is much easier to conceal, so it’ll stay in Monday-Friday use.

I have a couple of the cheap work belts Home Depot sells, meant for tool pouches.

Total cost: Tree Fiddy.

I got all the LAPG on some big discount but it was a few years ago. I originally bought the belt to wear in case I fell and needed help getting up (I was in a wheelchair at the time). They slide around on this belt a little too easy, but there’s probably half a dozen ways to fix that.

One Thief Surplus has reasonable prices.

Ordered a 6 mag pouch from Tacticon. Should be here on Thursday. I run a Kore Essentials EDC “tactical” gun belt, well everyday. Will probably source a blank MOLLE chest rig and build it from there.
