Carry gun dilemma

Yup, too rich for my blood.

Wow they are proud of that thing lordy!

I try to be a good shot will all of my carry pistols. It’s funny you mention the CZ P-07. That is the one I carry most, for work. For carry away from work I compromise with a smaller size. For that I got with either a FN Reflex (really, it’s my preferred one). This is the MRD with a red dot and a light; same setup as my CZ.

I will add that I also carry a few others. As a BUG to my CZ I keep a LCP on my ankle it has Glock 42 sights and all of the M*Carbo upgrades . Also, around the house or when I need something light and tiny, I carry a LCP Max.

“no ubiquitous 380 snap”

Sig P365 Lux is 22.1oz Vs Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 which is 9.8oz

I mean 22.1oz isn’t a big deal to carry holstered, but it’s getting heaver for a pocket gun. They both hold 12 rounds so the ammo weight would be equal.

When we talk pocket gun weight, I always like to talk in US quarters, because anyone can run to the bank and throw that many quarters in their pocket.

Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 = 12 round of ammo + 50 quarters in your pocket

The Sig P365 Lux = 12 rounds of ammo + 110 quarters in your pocket

I have a LOT of arthritis in my thumbs and the CZ P-07 still just works fine for me. So many other pistols I have to change my grip a bit to reach the mag release, safety or decocker, because of the loss of thumb dexterity. But somehow the with the P-07 it’s all just there when my thumb reaches for it.

Everything is a trade-off. The perfect gun for the fight is probably not concealable. The more powerful, higher capacity gun is difficult to cenceal. The gun that’s a tack driver and fun to shoot is probably not good for concealment. My Ruger LCP is no fun to shoot, has minimal sights, is relatively low capacity, is considered an underpowered caliber… BUT IT GOES EVERYWHERE (many places it’s not supposed to go).

Welcome to the forum!
I have had to fix 3 LCP’s for freinds. They needed to really just be broken in and cleaned. One did not like the ammo and would not feed. Light polish on feed ramp and differnt ammo was the solution. They had alot of pocket lint.I recommended that they get a sticky holster if they pocket carry but they still need to clean ,lubricate, and practice. It is easy to get complacent and just grab and go.A little gun is better than no gun but only if it goes bang when you need it!

Full agree. That’s why I settled on the Glock 42…seemed like the best compromise. Better shootability than the LCP and better sights, only SLIGHTLY larger, but not heavy and no kick like micro 9mms.

As far as capacity…if I can’t end whatever engagement has caused me to draw my micro pocket pistol in 7-8 rounds, either I have massively messed up or I shouldn’t have fired in the first place.

Like I said earlier, I can put all the rounds center mass in a reasonable volley at typical self-defense ranges, and that’s all I need to be able to do with it.

I shot the Dagger micro over the weekend and I was surprised how well I did with it. Have a lot of thinking to do after this weekend.

I seen this guy locally in the ads, I bet being a Browning it is a good shooter. Looks like all steel so will be a nice heft and being browning probably well made, looks like 80s made? Maybe older? I didn’t research it much just assuming. But good looking 380. BDA 380. 650 bucks. Enough magazines to go into zombie apocalypse

.

Pulled mine once during an attempted robbery…one look he squealed and took off…wishing I was quicker to put one center mass, as it was tempting to put one in his back as he ran away…next time I’ll be ready…

Just something to compare it to,

I have shot a 84FS (Mostly the same gun but with a decocker instead of a safety) and it’s a great gun to shoot, just heavy (Steel frame like the Browning)

Yeah I work at a concrete batch plant, you get “Dust” in EVERYTHING, even if you aren’t carrying on the job, if you carry after work, your cloths transfer grit & fly ash into your car your holster, the action of your carry pistol, bit of a nightmare.

Dang sound almost as bad if not worse than cat hair and dog fur  dry lube would maybe help not attract the dust and grit like oil and grease.
Plastic safe electronic cleaner and air compressor is how I de fur
But then I have to re lube.
My Nightmare is I have a p80 g43 frame I made and a micro slide that Is my favorite to carry. However Virginia’s Democrats want to make it illegal to possess.

Mine shoots Beautifully. It’s a better shot than I am.

Love the two I may or may not have.

Go to the gym and do a couple reps to build muscle and wear bagger clothes then cary the CZ like a real man. OK! So i’m busting your chops a little here but I do get it. I never cary my G21 any more because I prefer my G17. Way smoother to shoot, awesome recoil impulse and trigger, just a pleasure to shoot same with my 19X. I also have several other g19 clones that shoot great and a G32 that is a regular EDC. But when I’m feeling like a puss, I carry my 43x. Nice and light easy to toat, shoots good enough but not going to complete with it anytime soon. I guess my recommendation is to carry them all, just cycle your EDC depending on the environment you plan to be in. For example when I go to the big city I carry the G17 with a double mag pouch. That give me 51 chances to defend myself in a life threatening situation. You have to go with what feels best with you, but it’s not like a CZ P07 is an AR-15 man. I carry a G19 which is the same basic size all the time and it’s more concealable than a full size pstol like a G17 or G20, and G21. I personally love my 45 ACP but you have to run a heavy belt to keep the pants from falling down to carry the thing. EDC what your comfortable with and the big heavy stuff use as a bed side gun.
