Central Florida hideout

Chuluota here (East of Oviedo)… Outside ranges I go to are Strickland Range in Daytona, Cendet Range in Umatilla. Indoor range I’ve used Shoot Straight in Casselberry and Top Gun in Daytona.

Did you ever find that 2000 yard range? I am curious.

Yessir. JTAC Ranch Firing Range in Mulberry, Florida. Haven’t been there yet. It’s quite a drive for me.

It’s about 2 hours for me. I might take a run out there in the next couple of weeks to check it out and see how far out I can shoot accurately.

EDIT: I just took a look at the website and that place is interesting, I wish I lived closer.

I thought so too. Quite the place. See if they will stretch it out to a mile.

I joined a new range near me…well range has been around for ever. you used to have to be sponsored to get in. My ammo spend has increased a bit - lol

Nice outdoor range with lanes up to 100 yards with a shotgun clay area.

I am not far from it at all and was one of the inaugural people to email and sign up. Once I learned that if I only chose a basic membership, as a veteran and shooter with 55 years of experience, that some kid with a higher level of membership had the ability to “direct” me on my shooting and limit my access, I decided it was not for me.

Just because you have some money, does not give you the right to correct a person with 55 years of shooting, and 8 years of military, just because you have a different color patch.

Nope. I hope they grow up over there and mature a bit.

Anyone have suggestion for cheapest Ffl transfer for online purchases?

Your local individual gun store or pawn shop. Call around to a few but don’t pay over $25

Welcome to the forums @Dkbmxer002

I’m in Tallahassee, but the cheapest ffl transfer you will find is $40, with a few higher than that. I feel that is because, except for the big box stores, they have small inventory. Might as well keep the money flowing somehow.

That must be a Florida thing @ $40

Gold Mine Pawn in Merritt Island. Used to be $25 dollars a visit. I believe it’s changed the amount of transfers you can get for $25 due to some people abusing it, but pretty sure it’s still only $25.

If it’s like my FFL - the cost to the Transferee rises inversely-proportional to their Attitude.

My FFL was always $25 but last time I was charged $50. I was going to complain, but why be “that guy”. I paid and left and wont go back. I need dagger frames. Why would I pay $50 for a frame then $50 to transfer?

Sadly PSA is now loosing money over my greedy FFL.

Other closer FFLs to me don’t transfer PSA items.

Kinda screwed right now.

EDIT: If they had half a brain, they would buy the $50 Dagger frames and sell them for $75. I’d happily walk in and buy one right now for the premium price. They would make $25 on each frame plus the other stuff I buy once I’m in the store. Instead they dismiss PSA as a brand and choose to make $0.

For the record, I would never do a transfer and walk out. I ALWAYS purchased items in store on top of my FFL transfer. I did this on purpose for the specific reason to show my support for my LGS and to show respect as a paying customer. Reason being is FFLs hate us for transfers and look down on us. But last time when they charged $50 I bought nothing and left.

The Wife bakes Christmas Goodies for my FFL - he’s become a pretty good friend.

I’m sorry your now-former-FFL hasn’t worked out favourably.

Some people look, but cannot See.

What up yall, Casselberry/longwood here

I’ve not found an FFL yet in Tallahassee below $40 for a transfer. I alway add the transfer to any online price, then shipping. If a local store can beat that I’ll buy. 90% of the time, they can’t. I’m not unreasonable. If it’s only $20 or so I’ll still buy but when it’s $50 or more…not in this economy!
