Dagger SCL Project

Dagger subcompact long.
A modern take to the classic grip chop.

As a long time Glock user I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with the 26.
For me the 19 sight radius is a very nature point of aim which along with recoil mitigation the traditional 26 does not share.

Now a big question is always why.
For me it’s simple a 26 length grip doesn’t print as often as a 19.
Microcompacts are too small for my taste.
This makes the 1926/ Dagger SCL as reasonable carry option.

Yes you lose capacity but you gain concealment without sacrificing effective usage.

Here’s the basic rundown of the project.

Dremeled a solid portion off leaving a safe area to hand file to proper length.
This allowed me to place a 10 round 26 mag in as flush making it slightly better to handle than a traditional 26.

As well as I took back the knuckle in the under cut and opened it up slightly more in the front. Took a small portion of the texture off the rear grip rounding it smooth.
Finished it off with a function focused stipple on the sides.

Tools used:
Dremel.
Handfile
60/120/220/600/2000 sandpaper.
Gun oil.

Given the price point of the Dagger frame if it’s something you’ve though of I’d recommend giving it a try.

If anyone has any questions or recommendations im happy to hear them

So to replacate this I would need a full size slide for my compat dagger? Or is it the other way around compact slide on full size fram. Probably wont be dping it but just curious
Don’t carry at the moment but am planning to.
Thanks

Works either way. For the super long look you could use a Compact X slide. Makes more sense to do this on a compact Dagger cause you have less wasted grip plastic. The full size Daggers right now just have a longer grip, not a longer frame.

An old pic of my 1926, it’s rustoleum’d, painted, stippled now.

Correct. You could use either.

Ive been debating calling this one done or being absolutely ridiculous. Ive fought the urge to pickup one of those comp ported slide combo’s.

I stuck that threaded barrel with the small comp onto mine. Makes the sharp edges of “normal” sized mags a lot easier to deal with at the range. That’s the one downside is when I want to practice with it, I don’t have more of the Magpul 12 rounders, so I use the 15/`7 round mags. Those corners sure feel sharp under recoil.

Also my favorite thing about this build is that I get to have a proper, full power WML on my gun. Not that weird rail adapter crap so I can’t use my favorite holster, or that pathetic low power TLR that fits the OEM G26.

Oops, apparently I lied. I moved the comp back to the non cut Dagger. I did have it on the 1926 for a while though.

Like the light, I just bought olight Baldr s- bl. I’m sure you know but bl is for blue lase( that was more for that 1% that didn’tknow). Test fit on my compact dagger, looked good tried on dagger micro but fit so sloppy if I us3d it, it would have fell off. I think it’s because of the indentation for serial number. Instead it on my rock whete it will stay.

I cut my compact to a G26L configuration last year. The left side was trimmed a little too high, but since I’m a right-handed shooter it is unnoticeable. I also did it after I was awake for almost 24 hours, so that probably wasn’t the best thing either.

Dagger frames are cheap, so fun can be had.

Welcome to the forums @75149 we’re glad to have you.

Yes dagger frames are inexpensive. i’ve never had the nerve to cut one up though, even though i think a g26 would be a awesome dagger clone size
