Firing Pin Retainer Pin replacement

I noticed my retainer cotter pin for the Firing pin was bent and grooved after only 100 rounds or so. Where can I buy replacements and is there a proper orientation of the pin to reduce damage? Thanks

Do you have any markings on the inside of the upper or buffer tube?

None that I can see. It all looks good. After shooting today upon cleaning I noticed the pin wouldn’t slide out easily and had to tap it with a drift. That’s when I saw the deformation and some grooves. I straightened and filed the rough edges and it went back in as normal.

I took another look. Only marks anywhere are where the hammer strikes the bolt. FWIW, It was oriented 90 deg from where it is in this pic if that makes a difference. the ‘split’ is now up and down instead of fore and aft.

It’s kind of a “wear part”. The metal is considerably softer than the Carrier or Firing Pin.

That’s cool. I just wanted to know where I can order spares. I don’t see them listed on their website. Are they just standard AR pins?

Proper orientation is with the hole aligned with the vertical axis. If you have a problem reinserting the pin, push down on the pin while pushing it in.
