Fit & Finish

I picked up a 10.5” AR-V with the slant rail last week. I haven’t had a chance to fire it yet but I will definitely say that it came out of the box with fit and finish that rivals some of the high end AR15’s that I’ve owned. No scratches, marks, blems anywhere that I could see and the upper and lower lock up tight. If it functions as well as it looks, I’ll be extremely pleased. I’m only waiting for the Sig Romeo5 that I ordered to come in.

@terry Glad to hear. Let us know how she shoots once you get out to the range!

Same here… Beautiful little weapon. Mine as well. There’s not a lot of reviews out there on YouTube on the ARV so I went out on a limb to get it and could not be happier. And you simply can’t be the quality Palmetto State magazines for the price for it.

Just got mine this week and other than charging having a gritty feel, the “A” part print of AR-V on the bolt not showing completely I love it.

this is great to hear. i really am looking forward to building mine soon. this is going to be fun!!

I’m sorry it took so long for me to report back on my AR-V 10.5”. I wanted to put at least 500 rounds through it before I reported. I now have just over 600 rounds of both round nose and HP through it without a single malfunction. I like it so much that it’s become my favorite indoor and outdoor range toy and I have trouble grabbing anything else out of my safe before I head out. I’m amazed at how light and maneuverable it is and the Romeo5 is the perfect optic for it. A couple of my friends and one of their wives have fired it and each one of them had a big smile on their face when they were finished.

The only issue I’ve had is that I can’t extract a live round without (very carefully) mortaring it. I only had to do it once but it’s a fairly commonly reported issue. I’m sure I could send the gun to PSA for a fix but right now I don’t want to be without it for any length of time. I’m also thinking it might resolve in time and as I said, I almost never extract live rounds so it doesn’t really bother me. In every other way it functions beautifully.

When PSA comes out with complete uppers I might pick up a 16” just in case. I shoot at both a public and private range and there isn’t any way I’m going to register it.

Overall I couldn’t be happier with it

I love everything about my AR-V, except I thought since the upper and lower were proprietary that it would be a lot tighter fit. Mine has a little slop in it but fantastic gun reguardless.

Mine had a tight chamber when I got it. I made a dummy round and sent that and the barrel back to PSA and they reamed my chamber. Took less than a week to get it back. Sounds like that’s your issue too

Jonathan,
I’m pretty sure you’re correct and a tight chamber is the issue. I received an email from PSA after making my post. They asked me to return it and I said that I would just put up with it but the more I think about it, I’ll probably return the upper and let them fix it. Thanks for your input. It’s helped me make my decision.
