The term “assault weapon” is just a media word used to generate fear. The vehicle used in Brownsville was an assault weapon. Knives can be assault weapons if used to assault someone. So can a skillet - just piss off your wife and see.
Secondly, firearms of any kind don’t need a Supreme Court decision to make them “legal”. This is more misinformation that permeates the conversation, and we continue to allow it by saying “Second Amendment rights”, when the right to keep and bear arms is a right grated us by our Creator as stated in the Constitution. Second Amendment protections are merely a restatement of those rights, which are non-negotiable.
Unless you happen to live in an area where those rights have been usurped.
In 1775, an assault weapon was a pennsylvania long rifle, I’m kinda glad they weren’t banned !
In 1886, just a few generations later, a Henry lever action was an order of magnitude higher volume of fire than those Pennsylvanias. If fire-rate and capacity meant more victims per capita, none of us would be here. A few more generations, and every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a detachable box mag fed, self-loading rifle, cranking the sustained rate of fire higher still. And somehow, here we remain.
How about if we, constitutionally protected, law abiding, responsible gun owners, coin a term? “Defense Weapon”. None of my firearms have even been used in an assault. Not one. But almost all of them have been used as a “defense weapon”, defending myself, my family, and my fellow citizens and officers when I was in that line of work. It’s up to us to set the record straight.
How about we just call them “Arms”?
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
No need to come up with a new phrase only to be twisted around by some agenda driven lunatic.
AR = Armalite Rifle as designed.
Today?
AR = Assault Rifle
No disrespect intended. Sometimes it gets frustrating watching us trying to come up with answers to questions that have zero merit.
I hope that makes sense.
just refer to them as tools, as I carried them on my duty belt just as any other citizen in the daily course of my trade !
Where’s that from?
Good article disabusing the anti 2A attacks.
New bill introduced in both the Senate and House to do away with the NFA excise tax…
Good. If they do away with that stupid tax I might consider a can or even an SBR. But I refuse to give them my hard earned money.
“Conservative-like Virtue-Signaling”. The Uniparty will never Repeal any part of Federal Firearms Law(s).
Even if this makes it through both Houses, the people who have their collective hands up Joe’s Rectum making his stupid head flap open and close as he makes human-noises would Never let Jill sign this in the President’s Good Name…
Our only Hope is through the Courts at this point. Next step after that is Shooting… and Screaming… and Liberty-Tree Refreshments… then Gallows for the Losers.
And not talk about it. Do it in committee and keep your mouth shut. Dems do that often.
