Recently purchased this Primary Arms Slx 1-6 Nova fiber daylight bright LPVO for my new build and am looking at mounts and having issues finding one with the needed capabilities to ruggedness ratio set by myself. I want a decently light and low profile mount 5.8 ounce or less that has a bit of cantilever and also has good options for my 12oclock PA micro reflex with RMR footprint. Was looking at the aero ultra light but it’s not something I can trust with the weird rings and no optic plate possible for the rings. Seen some by UTG that seemed alright, any ideas? I’m unsure on height preference as this is my first lpvo and actually first armalight style rifle I’ve only had a 10/22 and a 30-30 lever gun up till now aswell as shotguns.
UTG over Aero? Lol, no.
Return the Primary Arms scope and get a Burris RT-6 for $30 more then add a Vortex mount. There is no need for an offset/ back up red dot on a 1x scope. You simply aim over the top of the optic and point shoot in the event of a failure.
The red dot is for passive aiming with night vision only the nova reticle is for normal 1x conditions, and I normally would go aero all day my rifle is using the m4e1 lower and kit but the ultralight mount they have isn’t something I can see being remotely durable and this is a rifle I want to rely on heavily if need be but I love aero precision and the reputation in other products. Was just looking at the leupold mark mount with 5 torq screws and 3 lugs and I think that will be the route I go. I bought the PA for the daylight bright as I’m gonna use the lower end most so the Burris isn’t gonna be what I need in the aspect but I have really like Burris products lately for something new and refreshing on the market. Plus the fde color on the nova is good looking that can’t be debated
Unity Tactical offers their FAST LPVO mount that can accept their MRDS cap and FAST RMR adapter but the scope mount is ~7.5 ounces before you add the adapter plate.
Unity is prolly what I’ll go for for my 300 bo red dot mount or reptile but the mount you speak of is like 300 almost if not more and that’s just seems crazy to me, I don’t doubt it’s amazing but so are others, the unity looks nice though really really nice.
As the saying goes- “ STRONG, LIGHT, CHEAP. pick any two”. LOL
If money is a constraint then I would have snagged the PA cantilever mount and scope mount cap they offer at a discounted price when you buy an optic. I believe the 507C mount they offer is compatible with your RMR optic?
UTG is airsoft quality at best.
Your not wrong I had them in the cart but didn’t pull the trigger because I’m already making sacrifices to build out a rifle I can depend on and not a toy, it’s gone from a 700 rifle to a 1500-2000 dollar rifle all together and that’s not even counting ammo, rig, training. But if I’m in company of others who see the world like me and my partner have been then you can understand how important having a rifle in the home is growing by the day, but normal life is still what the reality is and I can only sacrifice so much a week in order to continue living the way I want to live or preferably better than I currently do so I opted to wait a week on the mount
Interesting thanks for the input. Luepold is a name I know well so unless I find another in the price bracket that beats it I’ll prolly go with the mark mount it seems pretty rock solid
