Looks like I am later than hell but that seems to be the story of my life LOL I am Tom from the Lake Conroe area, about 50 miles north of Houston. As David Crockett (he never went by Davy) said “I was not born here but I got here as fast as I could” Nov 1979 for me.

Lived in Azle in early 80’s. There was a little town west of there, if I remember called Reno. There was a little place there called the Wild Onion. Best chicken fried steak I ever had. It hung off both a sides of your plate. White peppered country gravy. The lady would bake you any kinda of pie or cake if you called ahead, even if you only wanted one slice.
