My 1st PSA experience was a FN barreled premium carbine upper that just was not what I was looking for. Nothing wrong with it, just not the configuration I wanted at the time. My oldest son loves and now owns it. I have built and bought a few ARs in the years since, including an as-new factory mid-length PA-15 (buddy needed money, son “needed” an AR).
This year I could not resist a blem PSA 16" carbine nitride MOE EPT build kit ($400), especially since I had a stripped PSA Stealth lower on hand.
Assembly was straight forward, the gun functioned and zeroed just fine - but that carbine handguard is so short.
What to do, what to do? $300 blem nitride MOE mid-length upper, of course
The upper pinned onto my lower tight and the fit is perfect - any tighter and you would need a tool to push out the rear pin but it has zero wiggle. A trip to the range had it zeroed at 50 yards with the front sight post at mechanical zero and the MBUS rear one line off from centered, very nice. I really like the additional 2" of space on the mid-length handguard.
Unfortunately that left me with a spare blem nitride 16" carbine upper. I made a half-hearted attempt to sell it before I saw a complete blem MOE EPT lower for $150, including tax.
I am not sure what I will do with the carbine after my lower arrives, maybe just stash it in the safe for now.
I finally “get” PSA now. I got two complete AR-15 rifles for a bit under $1000 all in. Not just stripped down budget or incomplete guns, either. Both have nitride barrels, Magpul furniture, EPT triggers, front and rear sights and both guns functioned and zeroed without issue. They are not the “nicest” ARs I have, and are not the cheapest either but they are definitely the best value.

Edit/P.S. - I am not putting down PSA’s other lines. The Freedom Nitride MOE just nails it for an affordable but complete AR, and the mid length is a personal favorite due to a longer handguard, slightly softer shooting, and asthetics. Plus you can run a bayonet on it
