Looks like I did something stupid

Took apart my new AR-9, and somehow managed to put the BCG in backwards, to include the CH… In looking at it, and think I am screwed. Just trying to familiarize myself, and clean/lube it before taking it to the range. Any help would be much appreciated.

Pics are going to be the most beneficial thing here. Post those and we can prob help ya out.

Wooden dowel down the barrel may be the best way to tap it out.

The BCG is hitting on the CH.

Wooden dowel or similar down the barrel to push the BCG out like GG said.

Do you have a cleaning rod that you can use to tap on the back side of the bag to try and drive it out?

Roger. Thank you all for your help. Much appreciated.

It sounds like you got it out (?)… I did something similar the other day, except it was with an empty shell casing that got stuck in the chamber :scream: YouTube video rescued me!

Got it out just a few minutes ago! Wooden dowel from Lowes for $1.00, and a little banging on it and it’s done. Thanks to everyone!

Good job. I prefer wood over metal for that application. Wood will “give” and you take out the potential to booger up the barrel or other metal parts.

Glad it worked out for you

We have all had that, “oh, damn” moment. Trust me. It’s all part of learning how to operate and maintain a firearm proficiently. I’m about to start a new AK-102 project.

I will break something. It is going to happen.

As Pfunk said, we learn from our mistakes. Bet you’ll never do that again lol. Did something similar with one of my pistols and thought I would have to break it to get it apart. One thing 2A guys love to do is share knowledge. Don’t hesitate to ask for advice

Team!!! Need help, I did the same thing. I put the bcg on backwards with the charging handle and now its stuck. I tried to tap it out with a dowel through the barrel but I don’t understand how hard to do it without damaging with charging handle since I’m guessing I have to hit it hard enough to squeeze the little side clips of the charging handle pass the groove it slide into on the receiver. Please help!

Aluminum cleaning rod and tap from muzzle should get it out. Can you post a pic of under side of upper?

Thank you! I was able to knock it out with a dowel down the barrel. Just needed some decent taps.
