Your FFL had to have removed it and didn’t put it back.
Without your invoice in there, the FFL has no idea who the box belongs to or how to contact you. All contact info is on it. The contact info on the discreet box is markered across using a sharpie to keep it from shipping with that info outside the box.

I’ve used automotive “Rubberized undercoating”, but not on firearms before. It dried a bit hard, but did put a nice coat on. That’s probably what I’d use if I were gonna try to coat a grip. Just be sure to tape off the area it touches the lower and where the bottom cap goes on. Good luck!
I’ll probably just leave it like it is. When I find an MOE+ on sale I will go that route. I though of rubberized roof spray, but I think I will put the $ towards new hand grip. They are only $20-25 anyway…
Yeah, I’d replace it too before trying to coat with undercoating. Then you can choose a completely different style grip. I like a more vertical position and got a K2, but my next one will probably be a BCM mod 3.
