Am I missing something here? I bought a MagPul brand Mlok to picatinny rail adapter And the adapter rail does not mount to this handguard? What gives?
The simplest easy thing has me stumped. It will fit my Mlok floating rails and all my other Mlok MagPul handguards on all my other firearms. But not this one.
The holes/slots are small.
I figure next step is take that green foregrip back off and see if that mounts to other Mlok rails? Just curious if anyone knows why this is not fitting? Did I miss the obvious?

I’m guessing those are hydrographics? They’re thin enough that I doubt they closed up the holes by much. You’re mounting into the slots at 3,6,9 o’clock, right? Not the cooling holes at 4:30 & 7:30?
Edit: Anthony_PSA replied as I was typing. I did not know that MOE handguards don’t follow m-lok mount sizing. Good to know! I have one of those MOE guards but never mounted anything to it. I just assumed it was regular m-lok.
Nice color change from OD green. I always felt OD green needed a little somthing extra. Would work well as jungle camouflage

Apparently the older MOE handguards were slightly different? Mlok came later and was ever so slightly different?
If you look closely “which I didn’t” there is a “Legacy” and a “Mlok”. Both are MagPul MOE.
your handguard has the longer bigger slots on the top,and the smaller more numerous slots on the bottom. every time i’ve ever put a picatinny rail section on one of those i’ve only put it on the top side, with the larger slots. see if that works.
If I remember the evolution correctly, MOE slots were a proprietary precursor to MLOK which Magpul took public. I believe the MOE slots discontinued not to long before keymod also dropped in popularity.
